No sadly no 5.0 it's the 2.7 turbo the one before the issue in 2022

Oil consumption was solved. Each year was less and less, and 2021 had none as far as my research could find.

Was invited to go along on a group ride today by a couple we know to help celebrate their anniversary. They know I ride and I'd given him some help a month or so back with troubleshooting a problem with his Harley. I was a bit concerned with being the only Japanese bike and I've had bad experiences with group rides in the past but figured we'd give it a shot. KSU was set for 10:30 but due to a shower backed off to 11:30. 22 Harleys most with obnoxiously loud exhausts, 1 Kawasaki Vulcan that barely looked fit to ride and Dianne and I on the FJR. Preride riders meeting to discuss who was to ride in what position behind the leader, who would block intersections to allow the rolling cluster fuck to stay together through intersections etc. Within 30 minutes of departure Dianne was a nervous wreck observing one riding error after another and I was fed up with the whole affair.

15 minutes later several bikes had to pull over as one bike broke down forcing someone to go pick up a truck and trailer. That was it, my breaking point. Dianne and I split off after telling the leader we'd see them at the restaurant. Never again!

There is one 5.0 but they want a looot more then the truck I'm looking at plus it's a crew cab which we don't personally like lol. So the little 2.7 should do us great tbh

My general rule for years has been no more than 4 bikes, 5 if I know the riders and have ridden with them before. Dianne and I are usually alone or with one other couple, rarely more than that so she sort of wanted to try it to see for herself and I can understand that. I tried to go in with a good attitude but when we got to the meeting point and I saw the bikes and riders I could see the writing on the wall. Several were already finishing beers or hitting other bottles. Dianne and I are fully geared up but only saw one other couple wearing helmets. Several women passengers in shorts and sandals.

I actually like the couple who invited us and sort of felt bad that we split off but at the end of the day our safety is more important than someone getting butt hurt that our idea of riding is not the same as theirs. Lesson learned, again.

That's a sweet bike. If I wasn't staring down a couple months, maybe more of being out of work, I would definitely be interested. I love the FZ-07 but it leaves a bit to be desired for anything more than local rides under about 100 miles.

Survived my weekend. Ended up coming back a day early due to weather and traffic being better today vs tomorrow. Saturday was 7 hours out there with traffic and today was about six hours back. Total of about 725ish miles.

Most of eastern washington was mid to upper 90s, three and a half hours of that got real old real quick. Had a lightbulb moment at a gas station with some plastic water bottles I had in my bag.. stabbed a few holes in the lid, tucked it into the bottle holder on my pannier and whenever I got hot on the road I’d take it out, spray myself down with the water, and boom nice and chilly again. Worked SURPRISINGLY well. Hottest it got was a smidge over 101 according to my bike.

Overall great weekend, but my ass is sore.

Nothing noticeable for me on the 250 (same motor besides bore). About 2000mi and seems pretty quiet and smooth anywhere in the revs.

My great find of the day as silly as it is - for some reason I have this desire for as much storage as possible (I'd like to get out of my city for a trip in the near future).
Today it was a $5 tail bag from marketplace; has an expandable section at the bottom as well! I think I'm pretty set now between this, the ZRX's factory storage under the seat, and my backpack.
Straps were too short to go under the seat so I just used the grab handles - perfect fit!

ZRX airbox out mod anyone? You can fit a gallon jug under the seat once you go to pods and add a bit of 20ga sheet metal

Oof. Glad you two were able to exit safely. I do my best not to ride with more than 4-5 other people who I know ride decently. If there’s more I sit all the way at the back with a large buffer.

I have a buddy who does lots of road trips, he’ll buy a small bag of ice and strap it to the front of his bike so it sprays him down as it melts. Works better without a windshield, or a very small one lol

Happy Labor Day friends, hope you are all enjoying the holiday and staying safe. As a reminder to ride safe, same friend as mentioned above is on a road trip right now and went down this morning. Deer ran out directly into his bike on a dirt road. He’s alright luckily, bike suffered some damage unfortunately.

I’m planning to go for a ride in a little, going to be extra safe today. Hope you all are as well.

Yup stay safe everyone and don't be stupid ...

Had a fatality near work the other day because someone decided the construction comes meant nothing to them ....

ATM we are going to go trade the Tacoma in for the f150. Might go for a ride after the fact.

Got my first hit on the FZ1. It’s from the cycle trader ad. Interesting in looking tomorrow. Again not holding my breath but a good sign.

Have looked at that but not really wanting to do pods at least right now.. don't care for how they look and my bike runs perfect as is and tinkering tends to mess other stuff up
