Sad Taco day for me. When I bought it, I planned on $1000 in frame repairs. I just gave it a thorough inspection. Now I’m thinking $2K minimum. I have an excellent mechanic with low shop rates, so I’ll hope he can do it for less than I expected. :(:mad:o_O:bananadead::dancingbacon::homer::laser::pout::puke::smack::sick::itllbuffout:

The garage smells like fish for some reason.

Frame damage is always a slippery slope, sorry.

My first thought seeing that was doing that in the break room at work would be awesome...and punishable by a life in prison sentence

:anonymous: My wife was very happy when I switched over to the Keurig machine. For a while I had to grind my coffee at my workbench in the garage.

That fades eventually ... we sometimes fry bacon on mids in the breakroom/kitchen. Makes the hallway along the first floor smell like bacon all day ... most folk kinda like it, but I understand it makes everyone hungry and they usually send someone out for breakfast :sandwich:s or burritoes. :cookiemonster:

The worst is when someone reheats fish in the microwave ... that odor sticks around for weeks; everytime the microwave is used it regenerates itself.

Annual treatment on the matte black wheels on the GB. Probably better to do it more often, but between regular cleaning and spray wax, they hold up nicely. It's only a truck.

New tires and TPMS sensors (batteries finally died after 13 yrs) in the next week or two. Going with the new Cooper Discoverer Road & Trail (Standard Load) this time, versus the Discoverer AT3 LT (Load Range C).

I think there is enough meat around the bad spots to weld on the patches.

The cancer is where they all rot by the cats. Also some of the mounts for cross members look pretty grumpy. Maybe I can just replace those mounts.

What I didn’t notice before purchase was some long sections of plate steel welded in outboard side of the frame.

Rear looks better, but still going to get some attention.

In preparation for the needed repairs, I’ve redirected my pay check to https://www.rustbuster.com/collections/2ndgen-tacoma-05-15
