Hello I'm new here. I just bought my very first truck ever, and so far, I love it. I have a couple concern. I recently noticed when I turn off the truck, about 5 minutes later, the truck makes a loud squeaking noise. Also, I travel allot with my dogs, I can't figure out a way to lock the truck when it is still running. Why is this a issue? If I have the key fob, I should be able to lock it.

No idea on the 4th gen, but the older models have an air injection pump that runs after stopping, or it could also be the fuel pump. On the push button start models the fuel pump runs occasionally (again on older generations, I'm just guessing on the 4th gen).

The truck is smarter than that, and thinks you forgot the truck is running. I think the best option is to lock all doors except the driver's door, get out and close the door, then use the physical key to lock the driver's door (hidden in the key fob).

Just remember that someone can break into and steal your truck pretty easily this way.

If I have the keys, trucks running, and if someone managed to steal my truck, how far could they go without the key?

Until they run out of gas or get where they are going. The fob is needed to start the truck, that's all.

That's a terrible concept. It should be a radius from the keys. What's the point of having the truck on keeping it cool if anyone can just steal it?

If they did that and the battery died in the fob or had a connection problem the truck would die. Remote start will do what you are trying to do if you have that.

I assume you probably leave your truck running and a/c on, on hot days because your pets are in the truck. However leaving your truck running with your pets inside is a very very very bad idea. A thief or some nut job could break your window and be gone with your truck and dogs in 20 seconds. In which case you may never see your truck or dogs again.
If it’s a hot day and you have to make a stop for more than a couple minutes, don’t take your dogs with you. Even with windows down a little, dogs can die from the heat in a very short time. It’s happens hundreds of times a year. Get a better plan.

Are you referring the noise when the auto-parking break engages after shutting off? It will periodically make a funny sound to hold pressure randomly since they are disk brakes now.
