Took a stroll over at Longo Toyota and there are 30 tacomas lined up in a row and everyone of them is shooting off to the left except maybe one is semi close to being centered but still off..,
Same thing at Huntington Beach- all the same way
Just try and find one biased toward the right for example
A systemic issue but why ? They obviously are centering the bed to the frame holes and calling it a day so just where
did they screw up exactly ?
Here’s hoping wheel alignment has no compromises in relation to this

I'm guessing the machine that drills the holes in the bed is off. Always off to the left.

What if this is some sort of very clever Toyota move to slightly bias the bed to the left to counterbalance the fuel tank?

As you know fuel is an variable weight as it’s used so highly unlikely that would need
    a static (fixed) offset solution
Just amazing that workers on an assembly line and those that do final alignment
to the doors , hood, and tailgates ( and those aren’t great either) would miss this entirely

Well the way I look at it is after I’m been in the trails and beating the shit out of it I’m sure if the bed was off it won’t matter after all that

My 2023 had some awful hood to fender gaps & tailgate stuck out on drivers side when closed. It was almost a deal killer when I bought it but the sales guy promised me the service dept would fix it. Took the truck in the day after I bought it & left it there all day. When I picked it up, everything was the same, nothing adjusted. When I asked about it, he said to read my ticket. It says all gaps & panel alignment are within Toyota's specs & tolerances. I took the truck to a body shop the next day & asked for a price to align panels & gaps. He said they could do it but it was going to cost me. I don't remember what they quoted now, it's been over a year but I didn't have them fix it. I expect Toyota will tell you the same thing on the 24 beds.

This thread made me look. Alignment is imperfect on mine but same for a friend's GM pickup and other pickups I've observed in parking lots.

"they pay me to install the doors. They don't pay me to install the doors perfectly. I'm supposed to install 40 doors an hour. Not 28 doors perfectly. 40 doors 'good enough.' If they want perfect doors, they're going to get 28 an hour max."

I don't know if this is really what happens. But this is what I imagine.

I never would have even thought to look at this if I didn't see the thread. I'm also probably one of the only people on this forum who is not going to go look at my trucks bed alignment either. I honestly don't care if it's off 1/2 inch. It's a truck. I'm not married to it. Drive it and enjoy it until you get a different one.

Oh my God, I got a TH two days ago and it’s biased to the left about 1/8” or so. I thought it was just my truck. Maybe this is on purpose ????

My new TH has some weird stuff going on around tail lights - different gaps. My hope is this is not any long term reliability issue but more early manufacturing teething but .. who knows

Let me guess, we should be concerned about the turbo 4cylinder?

The 4 cyl turbo used in a million other toyota / Lexus vehicles? Overblown concerns
