Same @Sociopenguin can back this up. Only the home cooked stuff has been a winner so far.

We had Wabash at the request of the inlaws yesterday. It was alright, but again......nothing that can't be beat by @Mrs2Fang .

Bbq was ok, wouldn’t call it a definining style of its own. Better than what I’ve had here. This whole kc bbq has been a let down in terms of its own definition style for this region. Rarely has it been decent out here. Not what I’d expect for the reputation if you know what I mean.

just a couple of things tbh
I've yet to had BBQ that's better then stuff made out here tbh lol. And I've been a good amount of places. The only place I can say that I really liked was Rudy's in Colorado but that was more of a rib place.

I’ve lived west coast, east coast, and travelled a good bit. My fav has been in TX/ GA. When I make my pulled pork, it’s a blend of SC/TX style. It’s very good.

You aren't wrong. The lack of consistency is what drives me nuts. You can eat at a place one day and it's great but the next few times is just shit on a shingle.

Sorry to say, but Texas bbq has KC beat. No nasty sugary sauces, no nickle and diming on the sides, better smoke, and the beans aren't hiding in a wet bath of brown sugar goop for $7 a cup.

I don't feel like taking out a home equity loan to eat at Q39, but if someone else is buying that's a decent spot.

Any place that has a line outside full of people in reflective vests, and a parking lot full of utility trucks is a damn good indicator.

Always. Plus it means the people who work there don't suck since utility workers get the shaft in a ton of places we go to.

Locked bathrooms, scorn and attitude because we're dirty, not counted as first responders during snow (even though when it's bad the FD/ambulances follow us to where they need to be etc)

Just the usual complaints from local government. Lol.
