    So, it looks like Utley was actually 13, as these pictures are from May 2011 and he is clearly a puppy…

    @Lt. Dangle

    It was hot that day, Gwyn had the A/C on, and I decided to see how Utley would react to being held over the condenser fan…

    He loved it!

    I don’t know what Blue Book on an ‘07 IS350 is, but I’m looking for something for Amanda that is damn near unkillable. I have a touch screen Pioneer radio, new in the box, ready install in whatever car she buys so she can have a backup camera!

    Does that car have a decent factory system? My grandma’s 2002 Lexus RX300 had the standard 6-speaker stereo, rather than the Mark Levinson system, and it sounded pretty good! :headbang:

    My neighbor panic-bought some premium fuel for her generator that she ended up not needing. She didn’t want it to go to waste, so she gave it to me (I’m giving her back the container)! Unfortunately, it’s one of those confusing new dispensers, so I’m gonna have to put it in one of my containers and then put it in the Taco, but I’m not paying for gas this week!

    Hate those new ones, they make a mess and a half. Could always add a little stabilizer and store it for your machines.

    Anybody who follows me closely on here knows that I have a serious soft spot for older Chrysler minivans. This is a 1994 Dodge Grand Caravan SE, used by a funeral home to pick up the recently deceased without drawing attention like a hearse might; I noticed it parked out back while I was taking out the garbage, and the driver happened to be getting in. Unfortunately, this van was here to pick up a resident, and the driver would have shown me the inside if they weren’t already back there.

    Anyway, this van has been owned by the same funeral home since it was new, and it only has 50K original miles. Being an extended wheelbase model with the midlevel “SE” trim, it has the bulletproof (in my opinion) 3.3L V6, but the driver told me that the tranny is starting to slip. This is inevitable in these vans. Anyway, my aunt and uncle had this exact van when I was a kid but in silver, so it brings back fun memories!

    Bet the only reason for the transmission slipping is the fluid is ancient, perhaps original

    Stereo is pretty decent. If I were you, look at the ES350 for her. Front wheel drive and more room than a cramped up IS series Lexus.

    I starting to get seriously annoyed with my job, but not for the job itself, and certainly not for the pay. People are disloyal lazy-asses! The other utility worker got fired last Thursday, and his termination totally fucked me over. People routinely call out, which leaves us understaffed, and when we are understaffed the pots and pans are often late getting down to me. Tonight, Amanda and I didn't leave until 8:45pm (my shift is supposed to end at 8pm, and I am generally out before that).

    Today, one of the managers was bitching out a server who literally just disappeared between lunch and dinner, and nobody could find him. The nursing home where we work is huge, and it is easy to disappear. There are parts of the building where I have still never been, and I suspect that the younger employees are wandering off to spend time on their phones. A lot of them regularly call out, and one of them got fired after being there an extremely short period of time because he was always late and just sat on his ass most of the time.

    I am happy if I can clock out between 7:30 and 8pm. Sometimes the part-time guy works 4pm to 8pm and we get out even earlier; I am a competent dishwasher, just not a particularly fast one! If all of the carts are down by like 6:45pm, I'm fine.

    I am just really glad that this isn't a permanent job!

    I can understand not wanting to make a career out of “dish washing”.
    I mean, for enough money, sure. But realistically, you will never make much money as a dish washer.
