I bought de-shelled pistachios this time and they do not taste nearly as good as the ones in the shells. I don't know why but it's true.

Also, I learned today that pistachio nuts in the shell are referred to as "nut meat" and I don't know yet how I'm going to use that information, but use it I will

 

Almost 1.4 to live in San Jose that's a hard pass.

Whomever makes our training things is paid too much, AI voices and horrible pictures and sprite texturing

 

Also, having grandparents and other family (especially retired ones) nearby. The annual savings alone in childcare every year would be massive.

 

No shit, daycare costs are fucking up there

 

And it's one of those things you don't go looking for deals on, at least not in the way you do other stuff in life. It's like driving through a neighborhood and seeing some random half-assed homemade ransom note-looking sign that says "AFFORDABLE HOME DAYCARE PROVIDED HERE"

like wtf who actually sees that and trusts their fucking kids to it

 

Monica's parents have been here all weekend. I think we heard "you need to move to San Diego" at least 100 times. We should have made a drinking game of it. Yes it would help having family close but it comes with a price.

 

Yeah but San Diego is so fucking expensive I don't think the childcare savings would offset the cost of living all that much lol

 

That's the crazy part cause there are tons of "at home daycares" like wtf

I don't know if it's just me (I generally don't like people, much less trust them) or if it's the fact that it's my kid, but man I could never leave Theo with anyone other than my own parents

Except you guys actually, you and Rebecca or James and Monica would be the only other people

 

There was that incident where there was an underground lab or something, and above it ran a daycare for years

But they weren't making drugs or anything, they were housing deadly pathogens, etc as if to be used for biological warfare I forget

 

yeah that's why it's been so hard to find childcare for us, Rebecca is insanely selective about it. But she does use a nanny service that has given us a few good options. Oddly they have all been girl students at the local Christian college...so they usually aren't around for more than a year or so before they move on. Say what you will about em but they do make good babysitters lol.

Yeah they don't get that. They paid $300k for their house 10 years ago and now the neighborhood is going for close to a million.

It's laughable to think it's "getting better now" as I've been reading up about the housing market; more people are starting to buy again as prices settle and rates slowly drop

I read an article about Jim Carrey having to drop the price of his house by 7mil; poor guy only got like 21mil out of it

 

Not gonna lie, a couple of ours have been hot as hell lol. One looked exactly like that girl from The Office, the one that took over Pam's job at the front desk. Like she could have been her body double, it was weird.
