Yeah they also come on when you flip the cargo light “on.” It actually saved me from wiring another switch.

 

I know this is old but how did you tap the dome light?

 

Put in a couple of LED light pods underneath & 2 in back....

Would you mind providing a quick rundown of you wired this?

I am trying to do lighting… well, everywhere.
Inside, underneath, and in the camper topper. Mounting lights is easy enough, but figuring out the how and where to tap into the electrical is proving cumbersome.

 

I installed a fuse block that has ignition hot & constant hot circuits. I have the undercarriage & rear lights connected to constant hot so I can turn them on at any time. My light bar & fogs are connected to an ignition circuit meaning they can only be turned on when the ignition (or accessory) is on. Google how to hook up lights to your fuse block, there's lots of info on here too...

I had one in my cart but it isn't ignition and constant hot. Much better that way.

 

I went with a Painless CirKit Boss fuse block Model #70107. Had one on my 2003 Tacoma too. Worked flawlessly for years.....

 

I may have gone a little over board but I like it.

I have 12 DD Series Rock lights (RGBW), 3 in each wheel well mounted with their flush mount brackets right into the plastic wheel well. Under my rock sliders I have a DD LED strip (RGBW). In my grill I have a DD LED strip (RGBW) along the top of the grill. And in the grill letters is two Lighting Trendz Flow Series LED strips.

They are controlled with 4 5-pin relays installed in a Bussmann 10 relay/fuse box. They are triggered with the switched ground from the dome light. I also installed 4 rocker switches in the drivers kick panel for the switched ground line so I can eliminate any or all of them from coming on when I unlock or open any door.

Along with that each circuit, Wheel Wells, Under Doors, and Grill/Grill Letters can be turned on with the truck shut off and no interior lights on. Basically for when I'm at a show and it's night time.

The grill letters also stay on when the truck is running and all lights are off.
