It's a great piece. I've got lots of opals but they're all in settings and to me that's not nearly as cool as a big raw stone lol.

It's a large piece so I wonder if it's worth anything. I went into this nice Asian jewelry shop recently and they had Jade bangles... I had no freaking idea the price ranges. Side by side in the case just based on stone quality was anywhere from $100 to $10k :bananadead: so wild...I mean it totally makes sense but there was some sticker shock.

Also thanks for finding out what it is because now I'm thinking that might be what this ring I have might be. Not sure what it is but it seems like a decent match. IMG_20240904_080121.jpg

Thanks for that suggestion, definitely worth looking into. The HVAC company we have offers financing for anything over $1,000... but the problem is, I have literally $0 income, as my State unemployment ran out in February, and I have to keep borrowing money every month just to pay the most critical bills. The credit cards are just having to wait until I get a job. So I would expect no one is going to finance me for diddly squat right now, since I would have no way at all to make payments. Argh!!

I have considered getting a "normal" job at a store or something, but with my severe back issues, I can't stand for more than a few minutes, so anything that requires being on my feet for even a moderate amount of time would not work. I have been applying for very low level IT positions, like Call Center / Help Desk, but so far no one had contacted me about those.

On a slightly positive note, I have applied for two positions at a company, for my normal high level types of IT position. I interviewed with the hiring manager and hois team last Friday for one of them, and just a few minutes ago, had a quick phone scren with the HR recruiter for the other position. He told me it turns out that both positions report to the same hiring Manager, he spoke with that Manager, and he told me the Manager is very interested in me for both positions.... so I may finally have a decent shot at getting back to normal pretty soon. Although I have learned not to get overly excited too early on in the interview process. Time will tell.

And thank you all, once again, for being so supportive. I will let you all know how these two jobs turn out.
