Why NOT RPF1's?

People have been putting aftermarket wheels on Tacoma's for years. We've seen almost every brand, style, size, and color imaginable.

Almost everyone complains about these trucks being too slow and feeling underpowered though...especially with the addition of very popular and heavy all-terrain tires.

So, why aren't Enkei RPF1 or other 18-19 pound wheels more popular?

I understand that if you're airing down to like 8psi you might be worried about the bead popping off so you'll want wheels designed for that, however, most people aren't airing down at all let alone to that level.

Why roll around on 17x8.5 Method 701's at almost 32lbs per corner when you can be on a set of wheels over 50% lighter and have a better performing truck in 99% of situations?

    I must be missing something.

What's their load capacity for each wheel? I can't imagine a 19lb wheel has much capacity

According to Google, it's 1,520lbs. Is that too low for our trucks?

Unless I'm mistaken, what you're missing is that they only make the RPF1 in 4 and 5-lug applications.

If you want a lightweight wheel that actually fits on your truck look into something like TE-37s, which are super lightweight and are common on Tacomas.

They aren't very popular because lightweight, strong wheels are expensive af

You are correct. The Enkei RPT1's are what I was thinking of. Same style with 6 lugs. 18 pounds in 16x8.

The best tire sizes are available in 17" wheels. Honestly these are not very impressive. What's the price point? You can get something like Konig Countersteer X in 17x8 at 21lbs each for $250 per wheel.

I run RPF1's on mine and love them. But for the 6 lug guys, RPT1's are what you want

I would consider that too low for a truck. Especially if you plan on using your truck as a truck.

Put that into perspective, my 26lb wheels have a 2500lb load capacity

I'm not too educated on wheel weight capacities but if it's just a static rating and your truck is under 6k lbs that looks like plenty.

Yep or Konig Six Shooter at 20lb each, 4lb lighter than the Enkei.
