Started looking a little more in-depth into them, my wife really likes them, she wanted another 4Runner, but after seeing the new 4R, she said “what in the hell did they do to it!? That thing is ugly!”

Anyways found this video, kinda like this guy better than the TFL knuckleheads.

Has the same gripe about the size of the fuel tank that I do with the Tacoma, 18 gallon isn’t enough.

Couple other nit picks too, guess the gauge cluster is really hard to see since it is digital now. Something I didn’t even think about. Biggest complaint about these review videos they drag it out too long trying to be artsy, just get to the point.

Yeah we are pretty interested in the new 4 runner as well, it looks like it finally got some updates it needed. Its definitely going to be a battle between that and the LC for which vehicle she wants, but no chance we’re buying a LC if the prices don’t come down.

Yeah finally! How old is the 4R platform 15-20 years?

She likes the Bronco as well, and I have been looking at F150s. She wants to stay with Toyota, but who knows. The 18 gallon tank on the Taco might be a deal breaker when I sit down and calculate. We are looking to move within the next year, have a lot of road trips all over the country coming up. Range is a concern. 36 gallon on the F150 is mighty tempting. 32 available on the Tundra, and do like the interior better. Have a month or so to decide.

Those are all good points. I do a lot of long range trips in my Tacoma (hence my user name) and I’ve never found range to be an issue. I usually have to pee before I get close to needing to refuel but I do drink a lot of water to stay hydrated lol

Could make it work. My old 1st Gen had an 18 gallon tank, it would get 15-17 mpg loaded. Traveling was a bit of a pain, carried Jerry cans, but I don’t really want to mess with them anymore.

Guessing the 4G will get about the same mpgs while loaded. Pop up camper with a small cargo trailer. It would be hitting gas stations often.

I tend to drive 14-16 hours straight, always seem to need to take a piss far from any fuel stop, ya know? Like the old family vacations, when dad used to fuss at us, “why didn’t you go at the last stop!?”

They aren’t coming down anytime soon. At least not until the 4Runner launch.

I’m super curious about 2025 prices. Especially the Pro, Trailhunter and Platinum pricing. I’m pretty happy with the 49k OTD price on my 2024 4Runner Off-road Premium.

Yeah I would be shocked (and happy) if you’re able to get a 2025 4 Runner for under $50K. Not counting base models of course.

Should be able to get a no frills SR5 for that, easy. Off-road Premium with moonroof and all the shit Gulf States Regions loads on them is usually north of 55k.

2025 is going to be higher. I fully expect the 4Runner prices to mimic the Tacoma prices, because it is a Tacoma.

That one's interesting, because the base model shouldn't be in the $70s to start with, right?

Every time I go to my local dealer is see tons of these 4gen on the lot . All auto very rare one with a manual . Sales are down on them since prices are so high .Even spoke to some sales guys saying they are hard to sell since people don’t want to pay that much for them .

Prices are high and dealers are loaded up with models without any upgrade packages. Closest large dealer to me has 14 OR base models and 1 with the upgrade package, that 1 will probably be gone today or is already gone. Certain things are a must for people at this price point such as a powered seat.

Well said. Plus, some sports cars have paddle shifters since the shifts can be made much quicker and more precise than with a standard clutch and stick.

Funny how people must have a feature when the price point hits a certain threshold, and I do agree. That's another thing that drives up cost for the consumer I'd drive a Cadillac with out a power seat that's how much I'd rather not have a power seat.

My sisters were shocked that the 4Runner doesn't have memory seats or heated rear seats as well, just another example. For comparison, they drive Fords, Hyundais, and Subarus.

Toyota does not usually compete on features, that's for sure.
