Total Chaos plus 2 ride height

Hey all.

Looking to get some feedback from folks running the Total Chaos plus 2 Expedition kit in regards to ride height.

I recently purchased the kit from @AccuTune Offroad with the Fox coil overs which came with 600 pound coils and had my local shop and friend Anthony @DTFtacoma install it.

When we first got it on the ground it seemed as little low. We had to jack it up a few times to get it to sit where we thought it should. So figured just tighten up the preload and get some height. And so I did until I got an acceptable amount of height.

Then after some communication with the accutune team it was determined to reduce my preload as it was a little too high and to settle the rear end a little by de torqueing and re-torque at ride height. Also my bump stops were a little misconfigured.

That ultimately got the front ride height a little under 22" hub to fender in the front and 23.5 in the rear. Which i thought was too low given that i just reduced my over preloaded condition.

I then went against Accutune recommendations and re-sprung the coil overs to the 650 pound springs and it still feels like I'm sitting too low. The AccuTune team said i would be sitting way too high after installing 650's and it would be a harsh ride. But took it to Pismo Dunes for some light mechanical testing and it actually felt great compared to my last set up. I have no complaints with ride or handling. Just ride height still.

I have some added weight in the front, but i was assured by the team before buying, that i am within the 600 pound spring range. In the spirit of research and testing and my gut feeling about my heavy azz truck, i went with the 650's which didn't have the outcome accutune or I thought. I was actually hoping to have to reduce preload.

In the photos above my hub to fender measurements were just over 21.5" and my neighbors as a hair over 23.

 

ChatGPT says go for the 700 pound springs! Accutune says dont even think about it. #letsgo!
