A sign of the times, I suspect. We've had several pristine properties sold after elderly people maintained them proudly... and a year or two later the yard is weeds. These people are buying these places at least partly because they have a beautiful yard... at least the real estate prices have some value attached because they are attractive... and when they move in the new owners absolutely do nothing to keep what they purchased in any kind of reasonable condition.

I can't remember any places that have gone the other direction. There are three places that planted or sodded yards and watered them long enough to get some lawn started... and then they just quit and the lawn all died. One place has done it twice.

A little something every chance we get.
:notsure: Good morning Porch Pals & Sue! A little damp to mow, and a small chance of more today, so.... I'll put it off to tomorrow! We got none of the threatened rain all Labor Day weekend, and 1.5" since! But temps and humidity both start dropping tomorrow, so seems worth the wait. Think I will go to the courthouse, and get my "25" sticker for the truck.

    Morning all

This is from Chuck (@US Marine)
    Andy

This surgery today kicked my ass and once the Anesthesia started wearing off the pain kicked in at full force . They decided to place stents in my left kidney and I woke up to a kidney that I couldn't empty . This was the most painful thing I have ever experienced

    I've got a doctor's appointment this Friday

I've got to have surgery on the other kidney in a few weeks with stents placed with the same results

Can you let others know I'm okay as I can't reply to everyone

    Afternoon all:

Thanks also Andy, glad to hear that he's OK. Sure doesn't sound like fun, hopefully after it's all done with, going through the painful surgery was worth it, wishing him well.

Needed to replace a ratchet strap on a ladder stand this morning, something chewed it completely apart, probably a squirrel. There is another strap above it, but without that second strap being on I was very careful when I replaced it since I didn't know how good the other strap was. Maybe it's time for a chain, sure don't need to fall from a 15' tree stand because of some critter chewing on the straps, that would not be good! :(

my ladder has removable COMFY seats, so erry, well last week, a friend and I re-installed, and skirted it up. Now end of season, I remove the seats (got 2) loosen the strap, and pop the gator bar off the tree n leave it be, dont want the tree to absorb it. So twice a year imma strap checkin..

VW bus no thanks. Now if it was a Maserati I’d be all over it. Probably kill myself somewhere before I reached 180 mph

I'd rock the VW look, and maybe paste some flowers and peace symbols on it. And leave the Maserati for the snoots... lol

Ok ok I got a little carried away, I thought I was 20 again. You all brought me to my senses. I’ve seen the light, a VW bus would be perfect, I’d probably struggle even with that. .

I had a guy pull out from a parking lot a couple of weeks ago riding a Jazzy or one of those little 4 wheeled electric chairs (cherry red) and that guy was flying. I've never seen one go so fast. I thought he was going to go right in front of me but he turned just in time and so fast that I thought he'd turn over. And again, the little scooter surprised me and remained upright. I was in town and probably doing thirty-five and he was going damn close to my speed. I've never seen one go more than slightly over walking speed and this guy was cookin'...
