Had to get a new set of UCAs due to play in the bushings. They should be here this week. To I swap them out now (have to send them back and will get the “core” refunded) or wait till after this trip?
I’m waiting to hear if I have a time limit to return the core before I won’t get the refund.

I'd wait to swap as long as you're still within the core refund time limit. I know rockauto puts a time limit... something around 30-60 days. Can't remember off the top of my head.

    How much play?

If you wait to swap, at least bring them with. Anything happens, we can always change em out at camp

That’s not a bad plan. I’ll see what the rep says. If it’s 30 days I might not have much choice but to swap them before. I do get a new 3 year warranty on them though.

Not much play but I can get them to clunk when grabbing it. It might also be causing a random wabble in my steering wheel that I started noticing recently. It does not happen all the time or at specific speeds. Wheel bearings seem good and tires are a couple months old and balanced.
Those arms are the only things that had play and one of the ball joints started squeaking. I’ve kept them properly greased.

You'd be amazed at how much abuse these trucks will take. I've been meaning to rebuild my shocks and CVs for at least a year now...

    They are great!

One of my concerns is to prevent uneven wear on my new tires

Just heard back, can exceed 30 days as long as I keep in touch with them.

Wife helped make my decision and said to get them swapped out and the refund back on the credit card as soon as possible

Ordered new bolts and nuts for instal, just in case the arm movement are into the bolts at all. I should have them all this weekend to take care of it.

Will still be ready for this trip!

Now, since I’ll need an alignment, do I try and make it so my tire won’t rub at all on the cab mount by cutting some of the mount or utilizing the adjustable ball joint and LCA to keep the tire forward. Or a mix of both.

Right now, I only rub sometimes while in reverse.

Adjustable ball joints you say? What UCAs and LCAs do you have that sre adjustable for caster or camber?
Push the arms forward how? It's been a while since I've been in the guts of my truck's suspension, but I've been doing quite a bit of suspension and alignment work on another vehicle I own. I don't recall being able to move the arms on the taco, for any sort of caster.
