Got drunk at the neighbor’s house, sent Amanda home in an Uber, and left the Tacoma in the neighbor’s driveway… :D

I am thinking of getting a new job, and I actually found one, in a warehouse. It is very close to my house, Amanda's house, and the nursing home; I am beginning to realize that washing dishes, especially when I'm the only guy working, is not for me. One part-time dishwasher/utility worker got fired eleven days ago because he was unreliable and showed up whenever he felt like it. The other full-time dishwasher works 7am-3pm on the weekends I'm off, and the other part-time guy works 12pm-8pm. I've got nobody backing me up on my weekend shifts, and it's very stressful. Workers in my girlfriend's department call out routinely, leaving the whole team understaffed, which screws both of by causing us to work harder and later. I am going to go directly to the head honcho and see about getting switched to my girlfriend's department (food service), and if that doesn't work I am going to apply at this warehouse job that pays the same as my current job and gives me weekends off.

IMO..apply at the warehouse first. See how that goes. If they offer you something, give your notice at the other place and be done with it. Sounds like a common pattern there.

I worked in a food warehouse a lifetime ago.

Got Pneumonia from our stupid races through the freezer in t-shirts.

I broke my buddies ankle because we would joust using the power lifts.

I broke my own foot with a power lift.

    God damnit we were stupid.

Kind of sound like me when I worked at the lumber yard.

Never broke any thing. But I did jump off the second floor down to the warehouse floor.
I had it all planned out. I was going to bend my legs just enough to not hurt my knees, and maybe take the sting out of my feet on the landing.

    That plan failed.....

When I landed, my feet flew out from under me. And I landed on my ass.
My feet, my ass, and my back hurt.
I don't know how I didn't break anything. But I laid there for about 10 mins.
Needless to say, I took the stairs from then on.

    That's cool.
My buddy worked there right after we graduated.
I went to a lumber yard. (story above)
    He went to Frito-Lay

He used to give me those little "snack" size bags of chips by the box full.

I used to get to take alot of expired product home. Was never a big fan of Fritos, but sometimes when they got to the warehouse the bags were still warm, those were freakin' delicious!!!

Sometimes a little water would end up at the edge of the docks after a rain, used to do John Force style burnouts with one of those, lol.
