The 4WD however will have better resale. Yea, I know if you plan on keeping it for a while, but just in case. There isn't that much more maintenance. IMO, if you can get the 4WD OR for the price of a 2WD SR5 it's a no brainer. This is just my opinion anyways.

Well, I got the call yesterday.
I delivered to the vehicle to the transfer agent at the dealership Wednesday…
Then it’s time to source another, as of at this moment is similar vehicle even without the cold weather package isn’t readily available at San Diego dealers. I’m gonna figure things out…
I’m pretty much decided, dead set, another white SR5 with The upgrade package, I could do without the cold weather package though.

Yeah, i’ve never cared for heated seats, really don’t use the auto climate control even though it is a nice feature. The hard vinyl storage liner is actually nice, but it’s gonna have a full subwoofer enclosure taking up the entire seat area so hardliner would be kind of pointless.
But end of the day, if I can only find the upgrade package with the cold weather package only, it’s another $700. See what the dealership finds me when the time comes, or I wait.

    I agree %!!!!
Was a ford engine mechanic for 30+ years & paint was my #1 hesitation on buying the Tacoma…
In San Diego I drive around and see five year-old Tacoma‘s where the hoods and roofs are already excessively oxidized and faded, blow out….

I believe car manufacturers are allowed to (re)sell lemon law buybacks that weren't due to safety issues but the fact that it's a lemon law buy-back has to be reflected in the title history (owned by the manufacturer after initial sale) and a decal has to be placed in the driver's side door frame. Somebody who owns an auto paint shop could probably flip it for a decent profit. Also, I think it retains the same VIN so you might search on the VIN in a few months to see where it landed.

Mine was Built May 28th. Underground, inspected and clay bar the entire vehicle, found 2 defects, 1 tiny fish eye on the tail gate, minor scratches from the idiot that installed the rear window that easily buffed out. The fish eye is there but the light has to be perfect to see it and it’s tiny. Hopefully Toyota re educated some employees? Not just luck?

Looks like herpes, just keeps on giving…
    :mad::mad::mad:
now that I’m truck less, my dealer has been doing whatever they can to keep and make another sale,
They know I have an allocated vehicle reserved at dealer I prefer not to deal with….
They did a 2 for 1 dealer trade, a Camry and Corolla to get another SR5 from a dealer up north…
Not as bad as my first truck by any means,
but due to in your face locations, I am not accepting this one either….

OP. you need to give it up at this point. No 'White' is going to pass your inspection. Choose a different color or brand.

You do have a point, but I do know a handful of people that claim their truck is flawless, flawless to color sand you see every day another story.
I totally agree with you, Toyota can spray metallic silver that looks like glass, but the finish on the white in another story…

So was contemplating just a base model sr5.....
    No upgrade package at all...
Then realized the dont have the front & rear bumper anti collision sensors....
Not sure if im ok with that...
Knowing how close is too close was really nice...
Balled me out a few times parking in a tight garage...

    Im so mind f'ing myself....
Then I was offered a 2wd bronze trd sport for $4500 off msrp......
I like bronze but not sure about long-term for me...
hate the sport wheels & the hood scoop is meh.....

Everyone has to make their own bed, but speaking as a fellow retiree my senses and reaction time have degraded. Early stages of cataracts is really a wake up call for me that my window is closing. Those nanny devices has saved me a lot of insurance paperwork. I am glad they are on the truck.

I really do appreciate that insight and perspective…
Totally agree, my condo has a one car garage and then a few times where the truck stopped in its tracks before brushing up against the wall…
I’m just bummed because I assumed the cheaper base model Sr5 would have had it…
    Would’ve been a huge savings!
Looking at the pictures of that bronze TD sport, I don’t even see sensors in the rear bumpers on it so my guess is that truck doesn’t have them either cause no upgrade package.

So now my head is spinning, silver vs white....
I really like how the silver pops, really makes the bed flares & fenders pop...
But think long term, white would be easier to maintain, repairing / touching-up the inevitable scratch would be less noticeable...
Push me off a bridge, either one of them..
Silver w/ upgrade sitting on lot, White upgrade eta Oct 23, timeframe doesnt matter to me as I have wheels.

I never thought I’d own a silver vehicle, but I’ve got one now. I think it hides everything the best. Dust, dirt, and scratches.
