under coating (oil based)

Has anyone had any issues with oil based undercoating, warping, distorting the wheel wells on their trucks?

 

I think most of them are lanolin based, not mineral oil based. I’ve used NHOU for years with no issues.

 

I did ziebart undercoating, its like sticky tar & mix of oil , bit thicker than regular oil based coating, it sucks up dust and stuff so it wont wash off easily. Its been year and so far its still there, can't speak for how it protects as far as that goes since its new.

 

I have been using Krown treatments for years no issues. Needs to be done every season.

i filled the rocker panels on my gen1 with that stuff
stuff weeped out the openings in the front area drain and distorted the rubber mudflaps
so pissed off it did that... stuff was supposedly 'safe for rubber' written right there on the spray can

 

The rubber splash shields in the front wheel wells on mine absorbed a bunch of undercoating and swelled up, now one rubs on the tire. I have 2 big sheets of 3/32 EPDM I'm planning on making replacements with using the 1 piece template that's kicking around here.

 

someone needs to design some wheel well inserts for these trucks, I looked everywhere.
