Good Morning Whatevers, I woke up with this topic on my mind. Don't ask me where it came from, I really don't know. Somewhere buried in my subconscious. So here goes.

Between the ages of 16-18 what would you list as the most influential music album in your life during that time period. I had a really tough time coming up with just one. Now keep in mind that I turned 16 in 1973 and 18 in 1975.
So my #1 Album pick would have to be th-2857054874.jpg

This was a really tough decision for me. I also had to consider Yes "Fragile" and Black Sabbath "Masters of Reality"

Counting crows, Toadies, and Blink 182 were my high school.

In my last years of college, I needed a throwaway class to fill either an art or history category. So I took "History of Rock and Roll." And damn, that one class made me love music.

    My very first album.
I was only 9 at the time, but this is the one that had the most impact.

This clip was filmed during the making of the movie A Hard Day's Night...
... though it was dropped from the final cut of the movie.
Still the best movie ever made of a rock band
    It's very cheeky and funny.

    Beatlemania was real.
Just look at the reaction of these adolescent girls

Ya went and put that age range in there…. I’ll ignore it. First album I purchased - Elton John “Captain Fantastic”. Most enthusiastically listened to - Led Zeppelin “III”. Sharpest turn in my music tastes - Dead Kennedys “Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables”.

Yea, for a music class in middle school I had to take a favorite album and dissect a song. The album - Aerosmith “Toys in The Attic” and the song was “Walk This Way”.

For @OneGiraffe - “The Big ‘O’” (he named it… says ‘unfinished’)
    IMG_2072.jpg

One of the things he taught me is opals need water. You have to bathe them yearly or they will go chalky. They will preserve them (like this one) in either distilled water or mineral spirits, depending on factors I don’t understand. I have some in each and I have to sniff and touch to tell which it is. Opal is found as a layer inside a type of rock. They will often cut away the rock on both faces and “mount” it on an either white or black substrate to enhance the appearance. I have some Louisiana Opal (no longer mined, illegal) but it’s not as impressive. It’s specks of Opal in a brown granite looking rock. Opal is soft, which makes it difficult to work with.
