This is where I picked up the idea. Its an early j-arm kit on one of mark newham's trucks. Aluminum plate with fabricated mounting points. Making something this basic for uca and lca on a tacoma wouldn't be too crazy i think. So my idea is if there's OEMs already making forged aluminum stuff thats similar in size, then all I gotta do is fab the mounting points. It would be stronger and probably even cheaper than buying pieces of plate that big. Maybe even make it long travel without too much extra effort

I guess it doesn't even have to be a part off a car either. Really anything stronger/cheaper than a piece of plate that size. Airplane or machine parts could work too. Corrosion resistance is a big part of the goal so a reject titanium part off an airplane or something would be the ultimate solution. Open to suggestions!! I know some of yall got exposure to some cool industries

Any benefits to getting as much weight off the front and moved to the rear? Still planning on SUA. Wanting to put my compressor and battery in the bed.

If I had take off parts I would trade you lol. I thought of making a floor dolly for my truck mounted to the lca pivots a few times.

I am running a 35" spare, fiberglass, 80lbs worth of tools/spare parts. Would all this plus battery/compressor put me in HD spring territory?

yes, Are you planning on icechests and such too?
I have 34( soon to be 315) spare hanging over the bumper on a tire gate, a medium tool box with recovery gear, battery and first aid bug out pack, my 2.5 ton floor jack and a 5.5 gallon vp fuel jug along with a 70 lbs + ice chest when I head to the des.
I use the h70hd packs , before I had even more weight in the back and was way too much for my needs and I was wasting my bump zone numbers needlessly.
I actually pulled my recovery bumper off 125LBS + and installed a Dirt king bumper @ 33 LBS this way I can move more out of the cab and to the rear. Glass is order for the rear and aluminum skids are coming.

Not that it matters for performance but what's your rear ride height look like?

As I keep repositioning weight around in the bed and move more out of the cab to the back. I have this cubby behind my bed box that I am trying to fill with an aux fuel tank/cell. This way I can eliminate my vp fuel jug spot and mount my Co2 tank.
Its going to be close, but this gives me plenty of fuel and in a non-utilized spot in the bed.
