Has anyone found the 6 inch wider track width of the halo models limiting access to narrow trails? Thinking of places like the squeeze on Elephant Hill, Schofield Pass in CO, etc. The 2nd and 3rd gens are already too wide as is. I fear Toyota continuing to widen the truck is just going to turn into a poison pill.

Has the turn radius increased as well? If so, probably just going plan to have to rebuild everything that fails on my 3rd gen for the next 30 years.

Increased turn radius is definitely noticeable in my driveway. Hey thinking about doing that on my trip soon! Will report back if I do.

    Too poor for mods
I don't have any comparison on turning radius against 3rd Gen and prior as this is my first taco, but on my TRD OR DCLB the radius is a hair wider than my 2012 tundra double cab 6.5ft bed. I suspect electric power steering is the limiting factor here. On the width there is always a tradeoff between a wide stance and tight trails. Most of the early gen taco guys in my area have widened their wheelbase further than a stock 24, so a lot of personal preferences and knowledge of you local trails comes into play I guess?

Turn radius is worse, and the wide means pinstripes in my area.

The current tundra has the worst turning radius we've ever seen.

It has to do with geometry of the suspension, but maybe a length limitation of the rack because of the built in motor.

We have side by sides and dirt bikes on our trails more so width is pretty much meaningless.
