I'd agree with the manual transmission posts, maybe rear discs though I probably wouldn't notice a difference.
Fortunately for my checkbook, that's about the only thing I like about them. Looking forward to the 5th gen maybe?

The engine and transmission combo seems to be getting universal praise which is super refreshing compared all the dogshitting on the “turd” Gen by 4.slow owners with 5 speed autotragics

Well I haven't heard any issues with severe water leaks into the cab... unlike the brand new Highlander in my garage. Water leaks near the fuse box, sunroof leaks 360 degrees, rear hatch leaks water into the cab, etc. 4th gen Tacoma might be less awful than the other new Toyotas

    Itz JDM tyte, yo!
I was never impressed by the 4.0 engine and 5 speed automatic combo in a rental 4Runner I had for a few days. They are anemic just like the 3.5 Tacoma

Hometown ain’t lying! Thee whole truth and nothing but!

Shoot, that wasn’t too long ago. BTW, BlackHawk 2.1 helps out down low and that’s for reals, like a quick cat.

Just a shame its on the smaller engine option (detuned at that) and not on all the higher trims. If I could get another Pro (Trail Hunter too) with the hybrid and a stick I'd be there tomorrow to get one.

    Bitter?! Who's bitter?

The 2nd gen, esp. the 2.5gen 2013-2015 was peak Tacoma. (I drive a 2014 of course.)

3.5L V6 is a buzzy high rpm trash beast

I've never driven one or even ridden in one but I know this is the truth

The underground and bronze colors are Pretty Dope. Terra is cool to but I'd never buy a pro. Heck the new ones are all over priced. Looking forward to no payment in a few weeks so not interested in trading.

Its a 2023, I would hope its been good to you after all that time behind the wheel. LOL

Gen 3 is a dawg. I've owned Gen1,2 and in 2016 I found a new 2015 Gen 2 to ride out the Gen 3 years. Jumping back into the game with a Gen 4. The Gen 4 rides better, makes actual power and does pretty much everything else better than Gen 3.

Is it my imagination, or is the front "clip" longer on G4 than G3? If so, why? Looks kind of odd to me.

I almost passed on the first year of Gen3 for an outgoing ‘15 (really liked it in Pyrite Mica). Given the early teething issues, probably should have.

Who knows, in an alternate universe, I too could’ve been taking shots at the turd gen.

I like that the OR trims and above get coil spring rear suspension. Tuneability of the turbo. And the powered tailgate.

SR5's get the coil springs as well. That said, I find it more bouncy and unpredictable than the leaf spring setup I had on my 3rd gens.

So true. I did not like the look of the 4th gen when I first saw it. Just last night during the Toyota commercials on that good Sunday night football game I thought, "those Tacomas looks pretty good"....
