Which Tacoma? Keep the 2005 or get the 2009

  1. Go with the 2009 Tacoma

    56.5%
  2. Stay with the 2005 Tacoma

    43.5%

Gezz, that is pretty bad. I went to the Toyota dealer last week and talked about trading my 05 Frontier in and they said 12,500 which is under trade in value. And wouldn't budge on the Tacoma at 30K.

I make dealers compete. They don't like it, but I don't just give money away. ;)

They gave me a deal on the trade of my 007' for my 008' and I got almost $5k off sticker.

Yea i like the decision u made...stick with the 05. especially since ur looking for the same exact type of truck......ur better off not losing money on it.

Plus i hear they are changing the body style for the 2010 model. it may be worth waiting the year because even if you don't like the 2010 body style, the 2009 will be much cheaper hahaa

    2012 redesign.
Toyota runs at least 6 years with a body style.
Add in all the refresh changes for '09 and I doubt Toyota would have a redesign in '10.

    '09 changes.

Yes, BUT with the extra miles and years the value will drop with it. They are making some sweet deals right now, I would see what they can do and go from there!:D

All 09s come with the camera some just dont have a mirror.
Gentex sellthem for around 250-350 is and they are plug and play..
You are already wired just plug it in and go.

But i say save some green and keep your truck you really aren't getting anything different.

If there is nothing wrong with the 05 than keep it, all the additions with the 09's are nice but will they make your payment any better ? We are in tough times, it would be wise to hold on tight.

I just got an 09 because i needed a 4 door. I still cant find a difference other then the sat radio and bluetooth/ ipod from factory. More speackers in the truck 2 but i really dont care about that. Oh and the ugly tail lights.

I'm keeping the 05. It is paid for, Hell Yeah!!!! :D 103,000 miles & still going strong!

As for the deal I was going to get. I was getting $5k off sticker of the new one. But since they weren't coming close on my 05, No Deal! Wholesale was worth $13k, Retail $17k. I know dealers usually give less than wholesale. But 3k less! No thanks!

If the 05 has been problem free, I'd keep it & continue paying off that loan instead of going deeper in debt.

I guess we will be the longevity testers on this site. See how many miles you get on a 2nd gen before major problems.

Loan is paid off. I plan on keeping it for a long time. I will work on paying down some medical debt, then get a turbo charged sports car in a couple of years. But keep my truck for yard stuff & towing my boat.
