If it's still in warranty, absolutely put it on them. Am I remembering correctly that this was an older one they forgot about? Could the grease have dried up a bit because it just sat, and now you've worn through it?

Damn, son. Glad its just turning purdy colors for you. Hope it heals quickly. I'd imagine use is best for you, getting around and moving to the degree comfortable.

Check the steering head bearings. Mine were pretty dry and I took it apart and cleaned the it up and everything is working perfectly. I had that unstable feeling. I thought tires and maybe clutch cable binding but nope it was the bearings.

One of the guys messaging me about the S1000XR on facebook wanted to come look at it this weekend, the one weekend this month I'm out of town. Ugh. If his profile is accurate, he's about a seven hour drive away, so fingers crossed he's actually going to follow through. I can't imagine driving that far just to kick tires.

Question for those way more experienced than myself...

My plan was to mount some Baja Designs S2 Pros I had picked up on here to a CB500X when I found one. Figured I'd use the pre-wired accessory/high beam trigger to light them up. BUT, the CB500X I picked up already had the OEM Honda pods mounted up. While I'm sure they aren't as bright as the BDs, I figure I can leave this setup and use the BDs on my wife's rebel.

Now the Rebel doesn't have the pre-wired trigger. Only a single 12v accessory run. Do you think the BDs would be too much to just wire up to those, and leave them on 100% of the time? I've been leaving mine on all the time, but have only been riding in the day time, and again, these are probably WAY less bright than the BDs. For visibility, they'd be great, but they might be overwhelming. I know how to wire a switch, was just hoping to not deal with it, hahaha.

What do y'all think? Always on, or wire a switch somewhere?

Check your state laws regarding having them on at 100% all the time. I have aux lights on both FJR1300s and both are set up with dimmers. If I were to run them at full power all the time it would likely blind oncoming traffic and piss people off. Look into a Skene lighting controller. I helped a friend install one on his bike several years ago and it worked pretty nicely.

I already know the lights are 100% NOT LEGAL FOR ROAD USE. Just mounting them and having them turned off is illegal here, lol. I've just read a lot online that it's better to be visible to the pissed off person than run over cause they didn't see you. Of course, they might be using a far less blinding light than what i'm talking about, lol.

Technically, my lights I'm running are not legal for road use in PA either. In fact on my 2014 I have 2 sets of aux lights making for a total of 6 forward facing lights. Where I get it inspected he does it with the caveat of me agreeing that one set was installed after he inspected it which of course is what happened.

That Skene controller is cool along with the 3 position switch available for it. But I could probably get by with a dimmer and a highbeam triggered relay. Whatever % we set dimmer, and 100% when high beam triggers. I was just hoping to avoid digging into the OEM harness. Nothing I can't deal with, was just hoping to take the easy way out and wire them always on with the pre-exisiting wires.

always in the garage. i think it's been outside overnight once in a friend's driveway on a drinking night because I was being responsible.

well how are we supposed to guess that!

don't i know it though lol. about half my available bed space gets used up by my friends' camping gear when i manage to finagle them along.

hope you all had a solid weekend...absolute scorcher here in SoCal this weekend. Did not go to chuckwalla due to the heat being a concern, so I went for a ride on Friday afternoon with a friend in the canyons. Halfway out, we got stuck behind some construction traffic, and his bike ended up overheating, so we pulled over onto a turnout with no shade to hang out for about 45 mins while it cooled down in 100 degree heat. Luckily no further issues, and we finished out the ride. BMW is gonna need a new front soon, and probably due for a fork service.
Pic of us stranded in the heat, you can see where the coolant overflowed a bit near his bike before he turned it around

ive only ever left my bikes outside when i was out camping lol other then that they have always been garage kept.

welllll you are just suppose to know that! lol

yup i had a few of my buddies things as well since he tried fitting it all in his tercel. it was a good weekend minus the gravel roads and dust... we were suppose to be on trails mainly but got stuck just doing gravel roads which had some fun spots but nothing honestly great until mid day... and i was stuck in the back of the pack for a good while just in the dust... there is a photo of me when we stopped and my face was covered in dust! other then that thou it was a great time and found some small fun trails i could enjoy with the bike and the weather was perfect! 75ish in the day and 40 at night! the only night that sucked was saturday into sunday... there was so much condensation that when i woke up i thought it had rained on me last night!(didnt have the rainfly up) but thankfully i was hidding inside my sleeping bag so i didnt get wet unlike my buddy keegan lmao
so how does that work? do you hook the trailer to the moto carrier? its neat but man idk id be afraid of that carrier snapping off!

Yeah, the carrier has a receiver at the back so you can tow behind it.
