Since I'm not going to Bayfield that will be a good shakedown trip before I hit the highway for nearly all of October. Just booked site 63 which should give the groups some more room.

Also, I had a very cool day yesterday...

One of my oldest friends, who I've talked about with some of the regular guys, has a super nice '97 GMC Sonoma street build. LS2 Swap, making somewhere around 500 WHP on E85, Tremec T56 Magnum 6 speed, custom wiring, nice suspension, etc, etc..

Edit: just need to add; I've been on a few beat-runs in it, and it is fucking FAST!!!

He won a professional photo shoot at a car show, and I got to be the chase car for the photographer. He was hanging out of the 4Runner taking pictures while I drove. We did a few laps back and forth on the Hoan Bridge, and then went to Jones Island for still shots, and a burnout.

Of course, I had to get my own glamor shot before everyone else arrived: :D

    20240907_173112.jpg

Here are two shots from the photographer. The original resolution is much better. These were texted to me:

    imagejpeg_0 (2).jpg

And, one I took of the burnout:

The photographer was Dave Miller. He's on Facebook. He was super fun and easy to work with. I'd highly recommend him if anyone is looking for photography in the Milwaukee area. He does more than just cars, also.

    From what I see the wall was built wrong;
A wall that tall would need at least a two feet of highly compacted stone base,
fiberglass pins that go thru one layer into the one below,
fourteen to eighteen inches of clear stone behind wall for drainage,
at least four inch drain tile in a bed of stone along the bottom rows & then every four feet up with geo grid extending back at least ten feet into compacted soil.

I was also free to do what I wanted when I wasn't single. It was one of the good things about my ex.

The next one will most likely join me for some of these shenanigans. Or, maybe I'll just be single forever. o_O

Nothing wrong with that until you start adopting cats.

1 or 2 are within' the threshold.
    (I think)
I had 2. Cats are great. You can leave for a week and not worry about it.

I was around 34yrs old when I decided I needed to get married or people were going to start talking.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
Today will likely be nap day at some point. At 0120, I was awoken by a siren flashing past my house. It was followed about 25 seconds later by another. And another. And another. And another. My guess is 4 fire departments in total and water tankers from another 4. Tankers going past the house about every 6 minutes until somewhere around 0430-0500.

See, down the street from me, at the north edge of town, there is an alfalfa mill. They grind alfalfa down and press it into pellets for feed. It appears they had a fire...again. They store many tons of alfalfa on site.

Last time (almost 13 years ago), it took 4 days to put it out. This time, it seems to be just hours...they seem to be mopping up now, hasn't been a tanker past the house in an hour and a half or so. It will be interesting to hear what it was this time. Last time, it was some hay that was baled too green/wet that eventually spontaneously combusted. By the time it was found, it was so hot, they had their hands full trying to get to it. They wound up tearing the building down while the FD sprayed water on it.

    Yikes!
Our EH&S Manager is a stickler for dust build up.
Once a fire starts and shakes all that dust free you start getting little dust explosions everywhere.

He always brings up a fire at Imperial Sugar as an example during our safety meetings.

I used to deliver to a place that milled corn. I delivered dust collection bags. Management was pretty lax on procedures, they had dust everywhere!

I was always anxious to get out of there, the place was an explosion waiting to happen. It finally did one night. Leveled 2/3 of the building, killed 5 people and injured something like 2 dozen.

Somehow, they are still in business, between the OSHA fines and the lawsuits from the injured and killed, IIRC it was somewhere around a $15 million payout.

Bad influence or paying it forward?
    I can't tell the difference.

Who'd have thought not acting on bad financial advice would cost ya 15%? :blahblah:

Holy guacamole that's too ridiculously expensive now. I have those terminals but if I had to do it again there's no way I'd buy them at that price. Doesn't even come with lube, ouch.

Nice job on the wiring and mounting the Anderson plug!!
