I got kicked out of an email I've been using for years for signing up for stuff and got a lot of spam email to it.

I finally got logged back in to it today, had 3,918 emails and 99.9% of them were spam....I hope, cause I figured if I hadn't seen them in close to 3 years I didn't need to now so I deleted them all.

Oh do they make the grey PVC conduit and fittings? We use IPEX conduit bodies all the time.

Good afternoon everyone, I’m having a mechanical problem and I’m hoping I can get some ideas, maybe some guidance.

So I put a clutch in my 2013 6 speed Tacoma a month or so ago. I had the flywheel machined at the local Carquest, I do not know how much was removed, but the flywheel didn’t look that bad but it had been slipping so I knew it needed to be done. I installed a southbend stage 1 clutch which is actually made by exedy.

After it was all back together I noticed a vibration. It is very noticeable at idle, with the truck in gear or in neutral, clutch pedal depressed or out all the way. It gets worse at 1500rpm, and even worse at 2200. The other issue is the engagement. It’s basically an inch off the floor. I’ve put about 300 miles or so on it since install, and it’s come up a touch, but not at all where I think it should be, in the middle of pedal travel.

I guess my question is where do I start? I’ve pulled the transmission back apart and have the pressure plate sitting on the bench. Do I need to line up the weight on the pressure plate with the drilled holes on the flywheel? Is the flywheel itself out of wack because of the machining?

I did use all new bolts on the flywheel, torqued them all to spec in 3 steps. Same with the pressure plate.

I also noticed the throw out bearing had a longer overall length than the stock one. Does this affect the engagement? I think it would but I’m having a hard time wrapping my head around it.
Having said all of that, the clutch does grip well, and doesn’t slip at all. I pulled my 3000lb boat last weekend and it had 0 issues, other than those listed here.
Any insight you guys could provide would be incredible.
@Tacoma Mike maybe you can tell me how I f-ed it up!

Is there adjustment rod on the clutch? If not id say the throw out bearing length would affect the clutch pedal travel if the fork doesnt sit in same spot. As for the clutch it should be balanced with the flywheel, if its off balance that would give you vibes. Thats just my general knowledge

Hopefully Mike can point you in the right direction, I’ve never ran into a vibration after having flywheels machined or new clutch installs. :sorry:
