Thank you. Is C9 the other end of C11? By that I mean the wires from the switch connector C11 go straight to C9?

I'll admit, I'm confused if the stalk switch wires go to the MB-ECU, Combination Meter, both? I see diagrams that seem to show both?

I haven't observed a 2020 that has the ability to turn ON fogs without parking lamps ON. But since yours does, a simple tie (ground) to fog switch fixes the solution I drew.

Headlights are controlled at MBECU via C11 to light stalk.
Turns are controlled internally at the Combination Meter via C11 to light stalk.

Wow what a lotta stuff for nothing. It's up to manufacturers after a certain date to have new cars sold have auto on daytime running lights. If your car was bought without that and manufactured outside of Canada that's ok and the way it is. It's not up to you to go to all the work, difficulty and aggravation to alter your vehicle. There's lotsa cars running around here without daytime running lights. If it bugs you just turn on your headlights and if it's the auto shutoff/turn back on kind all the better. Relax and enjoy your ride and this great country. If it's a biggy for you I'd just sell what you have and get a real Canuckle car. Go Canada Go ! T

Nope just an old canuck that's been around the block a number of times. Cops don't check little stuff or work themselves into a frenzy here. Hell they let every new person in the country have all their side and back windows blacked out. Old guys just drive pick ups and don't tint nuthin.

But you failed to read that the OP is concerned with vehicle inspection...in order to get the (US) Taco to meet Canadian regs/registration, etc.:burp:

Pretty sure all he needs to do is show where the vehicle was purchased and manufactured. Not even sure if a 2020 year needs an inspection as it's quite new. Also most inspection places are just repair type places that are more concerned about brakes, tires, exhaust, and such. Hey I'm not 100% nor a license expert just tryin to help. If I were the OP I'd just go to a registry and try to get it registered. They usually only need proof of ownership and insurance.

So the headlight input control wires go straight from the switch at C11 to the MB-ECU and the turn control wires go straight from the switch at C11 to the Comb Meter? Are the turns wires at C9 at the Comb Meter the same as the ones at the stalk switch, just the other end?

Sorry if I was not clear, my fogs do not come on without the parking (or heads) on.

    Stock configuration:
OFF = All lights off even if truck on. Obviously turns and brakes, etc work.
DRL = the DRL brighter filament is on. No others except turns, brakes, etc.
Park = parking, side markers, tails. DRL ON. If fogs now turned on, DRL go off, leaving only the parking.
    Heads =
= Low beams + parking, markers. DRL are off. Fogs can be on or off, no change to other lights.
= High beams + lows, parking, side. Fogs will never light when highs are on.

If DRL off on headunit, all lights above work the same except the DRL filament never comes on, regardless of switch position.

I’d personally go with the fancy Johnny harness and OEM LED rather than try to multiplex DRL and turns together. Way easier to just turn DRL off in settings and fire ignition through for DRL at the headlight and kill that with low beams. That’s Johnny’s solution for his own truck.

I've spent quite a lot of time going through all of this. I cannot register the vehicle here without first passing RIV/federal and BC Provincial inspections. I cannot get it inspected without the proper forms only ginen by first exporting it from the US and then importing it into Canada through CBSA, paying taxes, etc. There's more, but I won't get into it.

I've talked to multiple people at RIV, CBSA, ICBC and even 2 provincial inspectors.... There are no other options and there's certainly no showing them proof of anything, except a vehicle that completely complies with all TSD108 requirements. No DRL is the first thing every person says must be addressed. Very few US sold vehicles fully comply. Hell, a 1" rip in the driver seat is a fail. Failed inspection, no registration until fixed. They will take off the tires to check brake bad thickness.

Ironically I've been told by these folks multiple times that once this is done it'll never be inspected again.l, and never to this extreme. I see dozens of cars a day (Lower Mainland BC, so fairly busy and city/urban) that would not pass the inspection I have to pass.

Ok sorry to hear all that and all the trouble. If the car is in "Lower Mainland BC" likely Vancouver I'd take it to Seattle and sell it to a dealer or a shop there and then get a registerable car where you now live. I'm not trying to make light of your situation but it doesn't seem worth the problems and effort to mess with it.

Fogs, turns & hazards activate added relay. All inside cab.
Relay, harness and IGN tap in engine bay.

If doing this much work, OEM LED for sure. No question. Also makes it easier to accomplish desired functionality.

The fancy Johnny harness needs an official certification. This is the chance to hit big time. @Puppypunter vs the Mounties. My money is on the ‘punter

I think I solved this conundrum, use an add-a-fuse and run Pin 86 of the relay to the Tail Fuse. 85 and 30 of the relay to ground and 87a to a T-Tap into Pin 20 (White) of the Combination Switch. No diodes or other nonsense needed and completely reversible.

End result DRLs will stay on even if the switch is turned to the off position, When you turn the tail lights or headlights on the Tail Relay will turn on and power up the Tail Fuse thus turning the relay on and opening Pin 87a releasing the ground from Pin 20 of the Combination Switch and turning the DRLs off.

Also will not interfere with auto lights if you have them.
