IMG_0864.jpg I bought a set of these and can highly recommend them for anyone who has broken tabs. I used JB Weld Plastic Bond to glue them in place and even with the outer tab being broken off at the housing I was able to get it glued together.

You willing to sell the STL? I got my own printer and I'd love to print my own if possible. Opened my hood and found both headlight brackets busted yesterday

At this point I'm not selling the STLs but I am considering it.

    Also interested in the STL!

have you had any issues with the prints breaking at layer lines or the glue failing? Perhaps worth using 3M DP8010ns?

Also, do you sell under multiple usernames? I’m seeing suggestions for a bunch of other suppliers but I’m not sure if those are knockoffs (name “alpha rider”)?

I don't sell under other names, those are ripoffs.

Layer lines are always a concern. The tabs are designed to put the stress along the strongest directions. It's always a concern but I tried hard to make them as strong as possible.

Over time the factory tabs break off. Either hard wheeling or it just gets old and brittle.

These either fix them if broken, or reinforce what is there if you think they will break

Would you be willing to offer SLS printed versions in polypropylene? Shapeways offers the service in the U.S. (https://www.shapeways.com/materials/polypropylene-sls)

Also, I was taking a look at the inner wings. Do those replace these brackets on the top side once you cut it back to a shorter section?

Sorry, I do my work on a small FDM printer so no SLS. I have looked into PP but it's very expensive and I see little benefit over ABS for this use.

You are correct on the "wings". Most of them break with some small portion of the original wing remaining, you need to cut that back and mine will slot over what is left. Trim about even with the edge of the light, leaving a small bit of the original structure to increase surface area for bonding. I also recommend printing the large "wing" flat, not tipped like shown on your build plate.

    Yes

    OEM Toyota LED lights only.

The Morimoto LEDs can use the "halogen" tabs with very minor trimming.

Is there another JB Weld Plastic Bond adhesive you recommend? It looks like this one is not/no longer recommended for Polypropylene. The cheapest alternative I could find is DP8005 (black), which retained a fairly high-temperature rating.

I looked at the other colors of Plastic Bonder all mention that they are suitable for PP. Black itself has all the exact same descriptions, however it alone does not list a single "suitable for" material.

I strong believe that JB Weld Plastic Bonder in black is entirely suitable even if it does not specifically list PP as a supported Plastic.

If it is a concern 50133 and 50133h do list supporting ABS and PP and are just not black.

    Haha.

for the plastics, I believe these all may not support polypropylene unless there is ambiguity in their datasheet. Here is the Tan one. I only saw mention of polypropylene in 3rd part websites, perhaps they changed their formula?
It may make sense because of how much lower price the product is than others that support low surface energy plastics. I was pretty hopeful of it working though.

    Hmmm....

Great discussion, thank you. I certainly want to make sure I'm recommending something that works here.

Also, very good catch that it was only on third party websites that it mentioned PP.

I'll reach out to JB Weld and see if they can give an answer
