. focus on the piece, not the people. clint eastwood got a lot of crap for talking to that chair, but inanimate objects are far easier than a fleshy audience.

just make it a show-and-tell. everyone likes to see completed working projects, and you've got plenty!

Ugh, yea, busy with some winter prep around here

Replaced some brick moulding around the front door to find rot on the bottom sill. I was just replacing it because I had it laying around and didn't want to scrape off the old flaking paint. That backfired on me hard. No time to really work on that now. Laid a nice amount of sealant on the bottom to keep any water out. Should last a couple more years. Also the front storm door is fubar so I get to drop $300 on a new Larson

 

First day of school again. Good morning crew 8-5 today for orientation.

 

Buildings & vehicles -- it seems you never have to look too far before you find something rotting, flapping, dripping or just falling apart.

 

The first day is always intimidating - you've got this.

 

This is what I get for trying to keep my property nice

Debating getting a new door assembly, but can't just get one that's pre-made. I have to get one custom made with a jamb extension

So, I gotta put work into my current door. Only thing that has a little rot is the sill so a little tedious, but not bad.

 

The good thing is I have been to the facility many times picking up freight over 18 years and I got an idea of what I will be doing.
I'll be loading and unloading trucks. I'm now intimidated by the paperwork fill out with management.
