So, I am considering trading my 2023 Tundra with recalled engine to go back to a Tacoma but I have a question. I need the 6' bed and apparently Toyota does not offer the Limited that way, so the next closest thing would be an OR or Sport with the ~$8000 premium package. When I read the contents of those, nowhere does it mention drivers seat memory function. Seriously? Is it impossible to get a 6' bed Tacoma with drivers seat memory?

More than I need but still not enough.
Best you will be able to get is powered seats but no memory. Go Gators! Lagway for QB1!

Then I am out. I am tired of Toyota's bizarre limitations on features. It was even so with the Tundras to some extent but at least you can get the longer bed in the higher trims. Now actually FINDING one may be another matter. So, I will stay on the sidelines for now and wait and see if they change this for 2025. And if they have a bigger gas tank offering as well.

The memory thing seems almost trivial but if you have a lady that you let drive it you know what a PITA it is going back and forth without memory. Just absolutely stupid that Toyota doesn't make this universally available with the power seat option.

Not sure about the Gators. They have really sucked recently. But hopefully better this year.

Toyota option packaging is fricken lame.

Totally hear you on the seat memory, wish my truck had it, my wife grabbed mine because she didn’t want to jockey vehicles to run an errand. It is going to take me a week and half to find that sweet spot setting that I like.

I hear ya. Same with her 2015 CR-V, has power seat but no memory. I offered to drive it to the restaurant to get the takeout a couple days ago (my Tundra was in the last unreserved parking spot, and I didn't want to lose it) and she said, no thanks, it'd take her 10 minutes to get her car seat sorted.

This Tacoma situation, however, is the worst I have seen. I kind of get it that they are trying to fish you into getting a higher profit higher trim. Fine, I'll bite. But then they literally lock you out of the 6' bed choice? You just can't get there from here. LOL.

Yeah no power seats. Really annoying. You could get a 6 ft OR with whatever options you want and buy some katskins for $2k.

The nice Softex power seats ARE available with OR and Sport trims with the premium packages. They just leave off the memory function and reserve that for Limited... which doesn't have a 6' bed option. Can't make this stuff up.

Oh I didn't know the limited had memory seats. That makes it even more annoying on the other power optioned trims. Makes me want to buy/ try to add it to my OR haha.

It is ridiculous is what it is, they want you to pay more for less. Seeing a lot of standard options disappearing and being pushed to higher trim levels (if at all)

Long time Toyota owner (pushing 40 years) getting quite hard to justify another purchase from them. Don’t think being “Toyota” is enough for me anymore.

I've got the Premium OR package with the electric seats and keep adjusting mine to keep the kinks out, so I don't need no stinking seat memory. :bananadance:

You know, it may not. I assumed it would but who knows. That would be even more ridiculous, a $55k+ vehicle without seat memory function. LOL.

As for adding it, forget about it. I got caught out by this on my Tundra. I looked and looked for a Limited or Platinum but could only find SR5 in the color and bed length but it had the "premium" package with Softex 8-way seats with lumbar, heated steering wheel, 14" head unit, etc. Later I found it lacked memory function. LOL.

So, I explored adding it and it was hideous. First there is a separate ECU for that. Then the harness and trying to find a way to route and connect it up, then programming it all to work with the truck mirrors and BCM or whatever. And lacking the electric steering column it might not have worked at all. IOW, thousands of $ and no way to be sure it would even work. LOL.

The Honda I have has memory seats but they do not adjust the wheel or mirrors just the seats. Thats kinda the minimum I would expect on the 8 way power seats package.

That would be the minimum, indeed. My mid-level trim Corvette adjusts everything. Toyota should get a clue.

I won't buy a vehicle with power seats again unless it has memory. My old Tacoma had manual seats and the driver's seat was easy enough to get back to position, just slide it to the next to last click and done. Same for the seat back angle with only a few clicks for positions. But with power seats having infinite positions front to back and up and down and seat and seatback angles it is impossible to get back to a precise location manually. I guess you could run it to the stops and time how far you are from those. LOL. I am still SMH at Toyota's omission of this feature and their absurd cost cutting measures on what is one of their biggest sellers. Seems like they are pretty much taking us for granted.

Was definitely a HUGE let down for our 1st Toyota, that and the mpg so far.

Wifes last 3 vehicles were Ford Limited's and this is her biggest complain other than fuel range as she drives 90 miles a day just for work.

Weekend comes and I adjust seat to me and then it starts all over for her again.

Yeah, my GF had a 2015 Honda CRV EX, power seats, no memory, and she hated to let me take it anywhere. Even if all I did was push the seat back to make room for my legs and then move it back forward the same amount when done, she says it was never right. She just traded it for a 2025 CRV Hybrid Sport and I wanted to upgrade her to the L trim that has memory, but the deal was already done. <sigh>

Our 14 RAV Limited has memory seats.

    Which we've never used.

Mostly because wife and I are very close in height / leg length.

Maybe you need a taller girlfriend. :D

I have the premium package and I agree that its strange that there is no memory. The other really strange item is a power tailgate that nobody needs, but no power folding mirrors that would actually be usefull.

Really memory seat is your only concern ? … 4 banger engine turbo … same crappy stereo from jbl … no leg room … no storage … not to mention the limited is close to 60k lol
