20240907_165110.jpg Makers cellar age isn't that good imo. Numerous store picks or even the cask strength is better. Had several messages. Don't want to be rude but this is the worst time to get anything ship in AZ with our heat wave.

Where do you get values? Googles shows more but I honestly don’t have a reliable source.

Down to 103⁰ today! But dropping significantly this week. I may even have a cigar on my patio later this week!

Beyoncé’s Sir David is actually pretty decent! New Stagg 24A and the Weller 12 were trades for Smokeye Hill and a Knob 12 .

Stagg 24a profile is different, not as fruity, similar to Bookers/Beam profile, a little nutty up front.

For the TW folks that are Grand Reserve, just had a Fall Sign up notice so perhaps be on the look out!

…..and once again the CYPB is an option for my store, so here’s to rounding out my collection of Wellers with a win! :)

Got these recently. The Smokehead is ok but the Rabbit Hole Rye is very good.

Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
So here's my bourbon BS for the day...

I was having dinner and checked my phone when I got a message from Total Wine that they had Weller Special Reserve in stock for $27/bottle. My BS meter went off so I checked the website and it said the store down the street had it in stock in Aisle 5, Bay 5. I jumped in the truck and tore over there (Weller does not exist in MN) only to be told they got one bottle that morning and it was gone. I showed the manager the website showing it still said in stock. He apologized that their online inventory system was so bad.

Anyway, I couldn't leave without something (which was their whole plan after all) so I grabbed a bottle of 2XO at the recommendation of my sister-in-law. Not worth the $100 price tag in my mind. I hope it grows on me later. It's going on a back shelf and I'll revisit it this winter to see how I still feel.20240910_192651.jpg

Not sure it's worth the shipping cost, but I can send you a few Weller SR if needed.

Thanks for the heads up! List for Colorado is terrible and we never got one for summer.

    Of course!

And NM didn’t have a summer draw as well. I asked the manager at the location I visit and he said they didn’t have a selection that was worth making a draw, so built up for the fall event.

I know there are a few others involved with the TW draw so hopefully some of us get a nice win!

I looked at your NM selection and it's a million times better than the CO one. I almost switched to Santa Fe haha.

I throw out a couple of reviews today.

I really like this. Buzzards Roost Cigar blend. They add some additional cigar tobacco smoke to their barrels, and it sure delivers on the finish. I like it better than RY3, and Joseph Magnus cigar blends. It’s sweet, not the usual heavy rye spice after taste, and a really smooth mouthfeel. Not at all hot.

I spotted this Old Elk for sale for $56 locally. I was not a fan of their Infiniti blend, but really like their double wheat. This has an MGP type fruity flavor up front, with a more lasting raisin and apricot finish. I don’t think this is MGP distillate. For the dollars and proof, thumbs up.

This is a local Longmont Colorado distillery. At 100 proof, and some good wheater funk, I like it. I’ve seen it at $40, but this one was $55. Two drops of water mellowed it. If it was in the 110-125 proof range with a bit more age, I think they would have a home run.
