likewise! I signed up for C group too. Never been to Buttonwillow so I’m gonna TRY to take her easy.

Gonna do my best to slim down a bit in preparation for this one. I’m hoping to be able to fit into my other (smaller) suit that’s currently more of a sausage casing.

Yeah when i'm leaving to head to the track I take one look at the inside of my cab and then try to pretend none of it is there :anonymous: My stuff also gets pretty spread out on the ground and table I bring as well.

Might help offset the high slung weight of the Scout tbh. But it could definitely be done. Buddy of mine takes his R6 to the track on a hitch carrier mounted on his Land Cruiser, and have seen many others do the same.

I do it with my dirtbike, but i'm too cautious/paranoid to attempt it with a street bike lol.

Sweet! I've been to Buttonwillow once, it's not bad, but figure C class is best if i'll be testing a bike I'm unfamiliar with.

I feel that...i just got my track suit repaired because the main zipper stitching was separating from the leather, no doubt due in part to my plumpness at the last track day.

so this year its looking like i can finally join in on adventure palooza! last year i was busy and couldnt go! atm im looking at the maps and routes and trying to get an idea of where we start for each. since idk where my buddies wanna start at this year.

below are the maps from last year but according to what ive read it should be roughly the same start point but slightly different routes
    [IMG]
if i had to guess we will be on the west route here\/
    [IMG]
    [IMG][IMG]

each route from what i read is about 400ish miles. you can do the longer routes thou if you do the 3 day deal. but according to my buddy who has done it the 3 day is extremely hard on you unless you train for this sort of thing. i really hope ill be able to go this year! its always looked like a lot of fun!

It's doable on my KTM but not an easy ride... have to move around a lot on the bike, stretch your legs and give hands a break. The SDR is comfy and has a fairly upright seating position, but it is a naked with sport biased ergonomics so I was sore/tired especially my legs and neck.

As for the Bolt, don't think I would have tried it on mine at least not without cruise control. But someone has done it already of course... @BkerChuck knows the guy, the bike was hard tailed too can't imagine no rear shocks ha

Paul Pelland, aka Long Haul Paul, is the nutcase in question, Google him if you want. He's also done a Saddlesore without moving at all, 1000 miles in under 24 hours on a chassis dyno. I'm not sure what he's planning currently but I have read rumors of a new world record attempt of some goofy sort.

He did a 50cc which is 50 hours coast to coast on a hard tailed Bolt to raise money for MS research. I also know the nutcase that helped make the bolt into even more of a chopper than the factory with extended forks and hard tail.

Anyone watched the YT video about the guy on the Grom doing a cannonball run? It's been on my watchlist for a couple weeks but haven't had a chance to fully watch yet.

Oh, guy buying the XR also checked in again last night and reiterated he wanted to buy it, so I switched it to Pending and almost immediately got a backup offer from a guy up in Spokane. Whoop whoop.

talked with my dealer where i got my klx300r from. i told them the issues im having with the steering and they do find it odd and are atm talking to some techs and will get back to me but are wanting the bike down to take a look at it so ill most likely have to drop it off sometime this week to see if they can figure out its odd steering issue and wobbles. so i have 3 weeks before the adventure palooza lets hope that gets sorted so i can swap tires to a more streetable tire and still get it plated before the event.

The person who did most of the mods for him is Jeremy Lovell from Kentucky. Long distance rally rider and a welding/shop teacher at a high school. I've met his as well, he's a fellow FJR rider. Look up Paul's story about riding in the Iron Butt Rally on a Ural when you have some time and want some laughs. Paul also did a ride from his home in NH to Chicago on a sub 300cc scooter while dressed in a powder blue tux like the one guy in Dumb and Dumber on a dare which raised over 5k for MS. His first Super Tenere is in Barber Motorsports Museum. I'm told it's the only bike in the museum that still has payments due on it. Apparently he made some sort of deal to donate it for display and his bank wrote off the last 2 payments. He's now sponsored by Yamaha and gets a new bike every 2 years as an ambassador for MS as a major fund raiser.
