Going over the new trucks at the dealer, seeing a lot of cut corners. Little eye opening honestly.

Those trans failures, must of sourced parts the same place KTM got their 790/890 cams from.

I believe it has something to do with if the inventory is purchased or consigned. Larry H Miller isn't smart path they own like 50 dealerships or more.

No idea what these guys (Bob Johnson Toyota in Rochester, NY) do in regards to their inventory. There is a SmartPath button on their website, though. Which, actually, now that I'm looking at it, includes a "dealerCd" parameter in the URL. That could be added to kissmygritts if it's the right parameter...

I created the dealer list in 2021 or something like that. Likely dealer numbers have changed etc. I'm hesitant to recreate the dealer list, or make any further changes to the script. Let me explain.

    1. I created this using an older version of Toyota's search page that used a simple RESTful API that I was able to figure out the query patterns
    2. Toyota's search has been updated to use a GraphQL API behind a web application firewall. I have no idea how to bypass the WAF. I tried the last time I made some updates. I'm really bummed too. There is so much more info in the GraphQL API.
    3. TLDR, my little scraping project will likely die soon, all Toyota needs to do is shutdown their old API, they already have the replacement in place.

can you add port options later or do the options have to be on the truck before it arrives to dealer? Was curious about the rigid fog lights with amber and clear and the truck bed lights. almost all ones I see don't list the rigid lights but some do so was curious how that works. I also realize these options are tied to the pro but was just wondering how all that works.

Port items can also be dealer installed. For a hefty sum.

The key is to locate the most basic version of the trim & color you want, and later selectively add only the items you want to add. In other words, outside of the range of SE Toyota.

That way the heavy discounts they’re now offering you go towards equity on the truck itself, instead of being cancelled out by a couple thousand dollars worth of tire rotations, puddle lights and charge cords.

I found one finally in Sandiego port CA

I gave up on what I wanted and just got a Underground 6’ bed OffRoad Premium. I will just sell its predator steps and fab some rock sliders with the money.

These are the options I got on my SR 5 , not sure what trim it’s called. This was the closest thing to my trade in that the dealer could offer me .

Thats a lot of add ons . Mine only has floor mats, spray on bed liner ,and predator steps i don’t like because they hang down too far and i don’t need a step I am tall.
