Let me dig through some stuff.. I did weigh everything when off the truck and compared oem to Wilwood. It was 11 lbs.. but I can't remember if that was the bbk weight savings, or total weight savings (because I switched to lighter wheels at the same time as well). Regardless, the 2 piece kit is definitely lighter vs OEM.

I hate that the only 17” wheel I’ve found that’s lighter than my current 16’s are those Volk te37’s which are like $3,600 for the set:frusty:

which wheels did you go with

Just looked through old posts.. the Wilwood kit itself shaves 11lbs off the front.

Man, super bummed to see how the last couple months have treated you. People always say "its just a car, it can be replaced; all thats important is that you're ok." And while thats true, losing a car (from a true car guy's perspective) is pretty damn close to losing a kid during pregnancy. That shit hurts man. Some people put alot of pride, blood, sweat, and tears into their cars, and its never cheap. With that being said, this season will pass brother. You'll do what you have to do to keep things afloat and to build your new marriage. But your car days are far from over. You'll take pride in anything you drive, even if its not your first choice, and I hope to see you around with another project soon, even if its a common daily with nothing more than rims and exhaust, we'll be rooting for ya

Ok so about 5.1/2 lbs per side…. That’s still pretty good.
I’ll have to try searching for what the rotor weights are since the caliper obviously isn’t rotational. Purely to satisfy my curiosity.

There are several Wilwood kits now. The newest is a direct replacement that uses an all iron brake disc. The original kit they have uses a 2 piece that is an Iron disc with an aluminum hat it attaches too. I imagine there is a bit of diff in the weights of the 2 sets.

lol that’s ok… even better then!

I emailed Wilwood. They said the 12.88” rotor and hat are 13.8 lbs
Compared to my current Stoptech rotor which a few places list as 18.5lbs, that’s a 4.7lb reduction per rotor!

Definitely bummed to see this series of events. Lotta good lessons for the collective wisdom and I appreciate you posting, @Pittsy. I didn't realize how young you are, though, and at twice your age, I can offer you some advice that you can disregard or not at your discretion:

-Take a step away from this truck for a minute before you bail on it and all of your hard work and the investment completely. Take your wife on a little getaway. Northern Arizona is gorgeous in the Fall. Take a breath, enjoy your wife's good company.

If each post that I followed intently on this thread was even remotely indicative of the pace of things in your shop, I just have to say that things must have been...hectic. I've found in my years of wrenching that nothing good ever comes from hectic shop time. Even pros, pushing builds for SEMA, do some of the shadiest work there is when shit is hectic. You were moving 10 different directions trying to trouble-shoot, sort out and finalize a whole multitude of different systems. I applaud your efforts and am jealous of your youth/energy but just take a breath before you scupper this whole adventure. A lot of good will come from some thoughtful reflection.

Those are some wise words and some good advice. I really do appreciate it.

We’ll see what time does. The truck might not sell for what I want, and might just be put in storage for a while. Not sure.

59,750. Bought the extended warranty. Was cheap insurance in case I have a cylinder head failure or valve seat failure which are all too common.

Lmao never. My times as a car guy are over. This is simply means of transportation to and from work . It’s getting window tint, and when my tires are shredded, some BFG’s. That’s it.
