A yankee is anyone from the north.....
That's the rule down here

 

Katrina was bad. I was in Houston at the time. As soon as the rigs were back up and operational I was dispatched to Port Sulfur to go sample on a drill barge. That was a rough freaking drive, and the first time that I saw the spray paint markers on the doors.

Plus the multiple roadblocks, some official, one or two not. Going both in and out I had to present ID and a letter stating I had actual business being there.

And then, the people. Our office took in the NO office so that they could keep working. Between six months and a year later, they eventually had enough saved to go back home and rebuild. Most of the displaced were like that. Good folk just trying to pay the bills. A large number of displaced however were not. Houston was messed up for many years by the number that were not.

 

So Tell me "Whatever" Guru, just where does the line form for everyone above it to be a Yankee, Curios mInds want to know!!! And don't forget your History Lessons.

To us, the entirety of the coast between Boston and Miami is populated by people who wear fake tans and talk too loudly. Go exactly 100 miles inland and that's where you'll find the toothless barefooted moonshiner.

 

A lot of people in other parts of the world call Americans "Yankees".
How do you Southerners feel about that?

The wind has picked up immensely. Lost UPS/Router about 30 minutes ago, but cellular still kickin’. The most annoying part - there’s power around us. I’m in a stretch where we have a couple jackasses that won’t let the power company trim the trees away (lines in back of property).
