rad! I wonder if could do is with my Shitty Build. Would be a solid option for moving it around in the different trucks. I've only taken compressor on a few trips and the bag is already hammered.

Might have to sacrifice an Apache case for science

What size tubing do y'all use for bed cages? My buddy has a tube bender with 1.75" tubing, but I'm leaning towards 2". Any thoughts?

I used 1.5x.120" when I did mine. 2" would be pretty overkill

Forget if I used 1” or 1.25” but it was thinner wall. 0.095 I think.

    Nothing overkill is really necessary
If anything you want some what of a weak structure somewhere in your support as a break away in the event of a crash or collision.
I’ve seen use of bar stock and tubing
But all in 1 inch or smaller.
I’d say just consider cost here and don’t try to drive a nail with a sledgehammer

    Whole lotta stuff
These are the bedside supports JD fab made for mine, .375 or .500 max. They just keep the shape from wind deflection, that’s it.

To the guys who bend tube, do you have a good resource or literature recommended to learn how to measure length needed while bending?

Just for example, how would you figure out length of tube needed for a bumper main bar that has multiple bends? If I want the tube to be 90" from end to end, what equations would I use to figure out how much length I'm losing with each bend.

i just go by centerline length and it's been close enough for the bumper stuff i do. Never done a full cage or anything with lots of multidirectional bends though
