I love my brute force front bumper on my 2nd gen. I like the thought put into it. Don't stick out to fat but holds the winch nicely with room for a light bar as well. It doesn't look cluttered.

    Shiiit I hope!

Here's my second test cut with my new Hypertherm - the test piece on CAD is 2" x 2" with a 0.625" circle in the middle which corresponds with the pattern on my fab table

    20240911_120844.jpg

The first test cut was to measure my kerf width as accurately as I could, which came out to about 0.040" which resulted in a part cut within 2-3 thousandths of an inch

    20240911_120925.jpg

    20240911_120914.jpg

    20240911_120938.jpg

The part had received absolutely no clean up since it cut so well. My only gripe is the minor beveling I got on the top edge but I'm blaming that more on the torch mount so I undid everything and need to mount it again and ensure squareness

I think if I bump up my kerf width to 0.041 or 0.042 that I'll be right on the money in terms of accuracy

The biggest difference from the old setup and new setup though is, cut speeds are much faster, and pierce delay is significantly less, while still providing better cut quality

There is a good chance Rob Tygart will be coming to Cruiser Crawl. He will trailer in the 45 from CA.

Mil and thou is the same thing lol. I teach alignments where we have a tolerance of .004 of miss alignment allowed. But i always say thou but some guys call it mil

I just called it thousandths cause, that's how I measured it on my calipers

Unaware of how others call it in their trade

My boss (the owner) would always insist on using "a cunt hair" as the tolerance at which something needs to meet; the first time he said it I brushed it off as him being old school, foul at the mouth type of dude

After 20 times I'm just like wtf dude

It looks clean, money well spent. Now you can turn out parts faster.

Mils drive me insane since my industry uses hybrid metric/imperial depending on what component were talking about, can't ever tell if they shortened millimeter or are saying mils as in thou's

Why do you think I mentioned it :luvya:

Mils you'd shoot for an azimuth on a lensatic compass; you'd just need to know your GM angle for the geographic area you're in if you're gonna plot it out on grid

Man, I haven't been shooting for awhile
