Genuinely asking, not trying to be snarky or anything of the sort. Your 2024 truck has 6,500 miles on it and I can’t imagine that you’ve had it for more than a couple months. How do you figure that it’s the best truck you’ve ever had? I think I’d personally have to wait a few years with a vehicle to see how it stacks up against others I’ve owned. I certainly hope you’re enjoying the hell out of it, though!

The transmission is bad y’all. They are replacing it and giving me a loaner.

It’s fast and nimble. I had a Colorado and a third gen that wanted me to die In traffic.

Wow - You still think this is the best truck - My 2015 is almost 10 years old and still has the original battery - has had only oil changes and never back to dealer for any repairs/issues. I don't think I will be trading for a 4th gen!

The transmissions are built in Japan and the engines in Alabama. Where the truck is built has no bearing. Discussions on other forums has some folks being told the torque converter is to blame. The transmission design is sound.

Right!? I need at least 200K on it to determine if it was any good or not. Only 58K on my current truck no idea it will be a good truck or not. My 1st Gen made it to 500K before the engine went (on its original trans) and I still have it.

Some of us do. You may not since you are new to the brand. Us long time owners have stayed with Toyota because of our past experiences, the 4G isn’t off to a good start. I see a lot of things makes me not want to buy one, which is totally unlike me, Toyota used to be a sure thing, now not so sure. Maybe it is too “American” now?

lol I’ve owned Toyotas since I was in high school - Camrys, 4 runners, 2 Tacomas — what I meant is we are here in this particular post to talk about the fourth gen not about how awesome everyone’s old Tacoma is

Think we are here to compare the new Toyota with the old. Nothing wrong with telling stories to compare.

Forgive me, just assumed you were a young newish driver by they way you ask questions, you seem a bit inexperienced.
