I agree to a point. The Tacoma will do 75 easily enough, and like you say, that's fast enough for me. If I had a 100k dollar sports car, I'd push it to 80 mhp. :)

I just noticed your residing in Carlsbad NM. One of my favorite childhood memories was the vacation we took to the Caverns. Had to have been pre 1969 because we lived in Midland Tx at the time. Cool Place.

Very well, for the most part.

I am still waiting to hear about 2 jobs I interviewed for (same company) 2 weeks ago. Last week the HR person sent me a direct email, rather than the standard automated rejection email you get from the HR system, saying "I will be in touch to let you know what the next steps are". I have sent him a couple follow up emails asking for any updates, as of just now.... crickets.

On a more positive note, yesterday I found and applied for a bunch of jobs. Last evening, an HR Recruiter from one of them contacted me asking to have a phone interview with him next week. I almost NEVER hear back on the same day I apply for a position, so this is a hopeful sign.

I don't know, as I have not reached that age yet.

I have never actually owned anything other than a motorcycle that got more than 18 MPG. My 1980 Hilux 4 cylinder only got 17 or 18. My 2017 Tacoma V6 used to get 17-18 in California, but I am very lucky to get 15 MPG here in Kentucky. And I track my mileage by an app on my phone (Fuelly), I never, ever trust the vehicles own computer, because it has no way to accurately track how much fuel has been used.

Alledgedly I've seen trip digits in Sumbitch ... passing trucks on Seward Hwy ... legally in purpose built passing zones ... again all this alledgedly.

I was born and raised here. I moved away a few times but just when you think you’re out, it pulls you back in

California is the same. They do NOT recognize concealed permits from ANY other state. They also do not recognize NRA or any other firearms safety training standards or certification. Many CCW permit trainers have NRA certification, but in order to be a licensed CCW trainer in CA, you have to get their State certification. It's basically the NRA cert, but Cali has to be Cali......

I did MPG become more important than MPH because I can’t afford it, both the car and the gas nowadays!

Whilst the subject of MPG & MPH lingers... I spent 4 months TDY in Germany; occasionally shuttling between Stuttgart, Kaiserslautern, and Frankfurt in a BMW 5 series. I learned my speed comfort tolerance level is around 270 KPH (@160 MPH). The most amazing part was having my doors blown off at that speed by Porsche or some other "supercar". Truly a "WITAGDF was that!" moment. And it happened more than a few times. :)
    :burnrubber:

Got back to England after and took the family up north to Scotland for a week. As we're driving north, my wife leans over to look at the speedo, and then says "you know they'll write you a huge ticket for that here?"
... I had that little Escort wagon wound out to 110MPH.
