Mine is laying on the ground in back of my garage with my wife nagging me every day to scrap it.
I'll eventually get around to it.

Ashley home store works for me.

There is also an REI just down the street to the east. A group of actual off road worthy Toyotas showing up there won’t make anyone suspicious.

I wouldn't be opposed to meeting at REI, either. I could pick up a few more freeze dried culinary masterpieces for the upcoming trips.

Should I make some Subaru stickers so everyone will fit in at REI?

Mine is laying on the side of my house in a gravel area where I put spare things that take up too much room in the garage. I know I'm not going back to stock so I don't know why I keep it, but I have a hard time letting go of it for some reason. Third gen bumpers I believe are more desirable since an OEM replacement costs big money with all them fancy sensors and paint matching and what not. My stock 2nd gen generic chrome bumper is made out of tinfoil and paper mache and is worth less than my gas costs to drive to the scrap yard.

That's pretty hilarious and also accurate. Glad I traded my Subaru in on my Tacoma. :anonymous:

Sad fact is that REI has changed and not for the better. Profits started falling since the pandemic and I read some rumors about the CEO having an affair, both of which caused a chain reaction of those leaders getting the axe by the board and other C level following them on the way out. New leaders are less like hippies and more like Gordon Gecko. New leaders favor profit above all else and decided to start cutting away piece by piece everything that made REI great. First ones getting the axe was each lead sales person for nothing else than salary which caused the other store staff to follow them out the door. Employees getting lower pay, stores stocking less items requiring special order or online only (in an industry where it is sometimes important to touch/feel/try on the gear). Corporatized all to make a few pennies more for some rich CEO's already stupid rich bonus. Hooray capitalism?

Online is no better. Walmart bought Moosejaw a couple years ago, then sold to Dicks Sporting Goods who re-branded them as "Public Lands" (which frankly is a bit misleading because that's what the Bureau Of Land Management, or BLM, goes by or often uses as specific text) and then killed off customer's previous rewards with zero notice which pissed off many people. Backcountry is one of the only other big players now. Choices keep getting consolidated down and gobbled up by equity firms. Barf.

I was kinda thinking if we just put COEXIST stickers on ours no one will know they aren't rubasu's.
Pretty sure those are a factory option.

I am good with either meet up point.
Having experienced both @pearing and @Pixeltim 's cooking on trips combined with following Fire to fork on YouTube I am reconsidering freeze dried meals entirely.
    https://www.youtube.com/@firetofork/videos

On my trip to the UP my friend made a whole frozen pizza over the fire on a tripod grill. That actually turned out great.

We definitely get spoiled on these trips! @Aztec120 has also contributed! Those sandwiches he made at Tigerton were ridiculous. I could have eaten like 6 of them!

I've been thinking about stepping up me camp cooking game. I haven't made hobo packs in way too long!

But, it's nice to not have to do any work sometimes. And, some of those things are actually pretty tasty!

I appreciate your comments about our cooking, but being how much the KBBs take to make, I’m thinking of slimming them down a bit for the up north trip and reducing it to the bare essence. I’m thinking a few pounds of the brown sugar, thick baked bacon should tide us over if nobody has an objection… I can make that in advance :)

I have a whole collection of un-installed stickers. I'll add it to the pile. :D

I just haven't figured out where to put them yet.

We may not agree much on politics, but we are completely aligned when it comes to clueless C suites and private equity firms.

Thanks for that channel. I just recently bought a Jetboil Genesis stove set and was planning to try some cooking soon, now I know which videos to watch and get started!
