Putting off Stitch's oil change a bit longer. Only at 6500 miles this oil/filter; color is still acceptable. Need to gather shtuff (gear oil and such) to do all driveline components. Take skid off once, instead of now and then again in a couple weeks. Need to get a serpentine belt too; not making noise now, but it squealed a couple times hauling that big crew side by side in July. It only squealed under load in slow turns.

The last two summers with ADF&G in Southeast, we had black bears at Speel Lake and the next watershed, Crescent Lake and Whiting River had browns. Blackies are timid and willing to press on the pecking order, while brown bears were no problem as they knew they were the top dog, and would eat black bears whenever encountered. Summer 1988, I would watch for a black bear that was totally jet black, while most have some patch of brown, especially around the nose. The next summer, Total Black showed up with a large triangle patch of hide peeled back and hanging down from the left hip. Maybe he tried to pick a fight with the gang of five big otters that lived at the upper end of Speel Lake.
"Re" is a prefix that means "again" so that just means that I'm back to getting tired again and again and again... Including back to changing exterior lights at the condo complex for my contractor friend since our HOA board apparently (probably?) PO'd the people they had doing it for the past several years.
Next week, the install technician from Ziply fiber will be in to switch my service from Spectrum (Time-Warner) coaxial cable to fiber optic cable service. The sales rep knocked on my door last week, and he grew up in Ketchikan among commercial fishermen, so we had a lengthy chin wag (as Mom used to call it).
Cooler weather has arrived with some rain, which has been lacking this summer. We had only one day of rain in July, on the 30th, ad a couple days with passing showers in August, so this week has been welcome!

Next weekend, weather permitting, I’ll attack the other fender on the jeep.

 

Disassembling my dryer today to replace the large felt ring/gasket along the back of the drum. I can see torn/worn sections of it along the back edge. Years ago, an appliance repair man suggested to purchase the most basic washers and dryers (that's harder to do these days) as they have less electronics to "fail" and are quite easy to repair. Was able to find the part/gasket at a local family owned appliance store nearby.
