    Fumoto ~ $30
Baxter Performance [TR-502-BK] Remote Adapter $280
    https://www.baxterperformanceusa.co...k-cartridge-to-remote-adapter-multi-port.html
    Baxter Performance [TS-501-BK] Spin-on-Adapter $270
    https://www.baxterperformanceusa.co...k-cartridge-to-spin-on-adapter-universal.html

The spin on adapter allows you to convert from the cartridge filter to the canister and have the filter remain in the same location underneath. The additional Remote Adapter builds on top of the previous part to relocate it up in the engine bay.

Remote Adapter to the left. Spin on Adapter to the right.

You still have to go underneath to open Fumoto, close when empty , place then remove drain pan. Using Motivx tools to remove and replace canister and filter element isn't a biggy to me. $280 buys a lot of filter elements and some refreshments when done. The cost isn't why I wouldn't do it, I'm just not convinced it's better.

No worries my friend. I'm not out here trying to convince anyone to do anything. I share because possibly there's someone who will like to try it who isn't yet aware of it. Most of the things I do with my truck, maintenance-wise, is the result of listening to all of you and choosing from the variety of ways things are done.

Here's a link to the thread. You just may be surprised how many "do" like it.

    Thank you for sharing @mquibble

It's nice to have options and seeing your's and how happy you are with the results is good enough for me.

With regards to a drain pan, many of us don't use one. Instead, we drain directly into a jug and sidestep the need to clean out a pan, fish for a drain plug and get messy. The Fumoto valve accepts a tube and we run it directly into a container, cap it off, and bring to the dump. Easy peasy.
