Official TSB for automatic trans failure from Toyota.

Mine appears to be in the range but I just passed 14k miles so I would think I’m ok.

 

Idk, people were saying that type of stuff about the tundra issues and look how that turned out

 

I just used the TSB instructions and then tried the online spreadsheet, both had my in the TSB range for the issue. I doubt a US vs Canada truck makes any difference as they're probably coming off the same production line.
I simply would have assumed mine would have been after due to the time of delivery although I don't know the production date yet. Will be phoning the local dealers to inquire about the same TSB in Canada.

 

Can only imagine the panic in the "influencer" and "journalist" circles to bang out a video faster than the competition when this post hit TW. First world problems. Keyboards so hot from panicked typing the keys were warped.

That does not line up with TSB numbers sent on the form,if I follow the form my truck does not fall under needing service

 

I have no idea if it’s accurate. People make mistakes, obviously.

 

I sent the tsb to Tim from pickup truck and suv talk. Hes a good guy that tries to put the truth out there . He was the first to announce it on YouTube

 

I'd put money on a bad batch of solenoids. Just a guess.

 

Normally I’d agree but complete transmission replacement seems to say otherwise.

What is this Platinum that several of you have mentioned? An extended warranty through the dealer? Can you still get those after driving off the dealer lot? Or can you only get them when completing the purchase paperwork. My SR5 purchased in May is unfortunately included in this TSB.

Yep, extended warranty. Look in the thread for it and contact Jerry for the best price. Cheap insurance IMO, cost me about the same price as some side steps.

Or the other option is just wait until close to the 3 year / 36k is up, because if Toyota does a recall and puts new transmissions in everything, that pretty much solves the problem for free.
