You may have been speaking Japanese for all I know. From what I could tell, you're gonna level shit out and start crackin' out more stiffies.

If you have a random orbital sander, slap the scuff pads on em and go to town with some oil. Works awesome

Don't own one, but check out the picture posted after that.

Just two scrotch brite pads, WD40, a bunch of paper towels, and a wipe down with acetone and it's significantly better than when it first arrived.

Fortunately, nothing rusts in the garage. I have square tubing, solid rod, angle, and even flat stock that's been in the corner for +2 years and not a bit of rust anywhere!

I keep checking back daily for update's, Once I get my stiffener's, I'll disappear again for 6 month's.

Until then, you two have a moral obligation to keep me entertained.

As much as I had intended to spend time dialing in the table today, it will not be happening.

This still falls within the two week period I posted on Sept 3rd.

    Family emergency.

Unfortunately I can't go; no children allowed in the ICU.

Wife's family so I had her go and take as long as she needs.

Appreciate it and I really appreciate all the work you did today on your set. Doing a lot more just trying to dial those added slots out than I could ask of you so thanks.

It's my wife and my MIL I feel for; I've only known him for less than 2 years now.

Lost my FIL last year in January, and Pete (who's in the ICU) and his wife were my in-laws best friends. You're talking, elementary school, having gone to high school together and all. Their friendship goes over 40 years long.

Pete cooked for us and helped cater at our kid's baby shower, in place of my FIL cause that's the kind of person he was. Basically they were closer to them/us than their actual family.

    Today's his last day unfortunately.

Life's short; go hug your loved ones.

Didn’t make it 2 months. I can’t find my receipt so I’m not certain, but I’m pretty sure they are black oxide alloy.
Class 10.9 Black Oxide Alloy Steel Button Head Socket Cap Screws
Haven’t looked at the internal bolts yet but I’m hoping the the Fastenal “ecoguard” bolts are doing better

Should unbolt them, scruff them up, heat them and dip in beeswax.

There are some blueing methods as well, but I'm not a fan of heating bolts really hot as it can cause them to become brittle.

My best friends’ dad just recently passed. I flew back to attend his rosary and wake. Wasn’t even old by definition. What sucked the most, is that we visited with them in July right before moving over here. He was fine.

TL;DR life is short. Hug your loved ones (like you said) and enjoy life.

Those ones should never rust, Under normal "earth like" conditions. Might run into some issues if you take your truck to Venus though.

Yeah, there was a lot of discussion about hardware early on. Thought I’d be alright with black oxide, but I thought wrong. Just sharing my experience so others won’t make the same mistake I did.
Just going to grab some zinc ones locally since McMaster shipping up here is like 30-40 bucks. Thank you though!

Been there, I have the scars. Sadly last weekend a good friend’s husband was watching football with her and he suddenly looked like he was having a momentary seizure and died on the spot. The horrific part was waiting 4 hours for the coroner to pick him up. Popo came and went. Then we had Francine and her flooding and power outages this past week. Life is what it is. Make what you can with what you got.
I used to prioritize things differently, but you quickly realize what really matters. If you and your other haven’t written wills, please strongly consider doing so. Probate is no place to settle things. If it’s been a while, perhaps revisit and update anything that isn’t applicable or has changed.

I now have everything primed, painted, and clear-coated. I've had the pieces hanging in the garage from bungee cords to sufficiently dry out (like a set of hardcore wind chimes). Really hoping to have time for the installation this coming weekend.
