I can write a TRD cal to the truck for you on a replacement ECU if needed. 1 day turn around.

If this was my UCON, I’d be requesting that they replace the boards inside it when you send it in, not a new calibration. That fixed my issue when I had random coil misfire codes a while back. This sounds like a hardware issue to me

My stock tensioner let loose today but nothing was damaged thank goodness. Got the Roush thrown back on this evening. It looks like the stock tensioner had a casting defect similar to others.

Yep. Just like 2 of mine in the past. Shitty casting.

Geeze. I don't even have a 1000 miles on mine yet, but I'll start looking at a suitable replacement from the front page of this thread.

Yeah I have seen at least 2 or 3 others in here with the same issue over the years. I was expecting this might happen, but I figured this would be an easier fix on the side of the road than a lower stud snapping off
Are you running an upgraded one now?

Yep, the Steeda mustang one. After some trimming it fits into the Tacoma bracket. Haven't had any issues.

Which SC tensioner were you running when your upgraded stud snapped?

I believe that's it. I went back through and tried to find a part number. The link is dead for me too and my order info doesn't show anything.

This is from my build when I did it..

My original one from magnuson. I replaced it with a new one out of precaution. I did buy a dayco which looked like a slightly beefier piece but sadly it wouldn’t fit so I just put a gates one in.

Thank you, that is helpful and looks like it didn’t require too much modification to fit. I am seeing a couple different part numbers for the steeda units but it looks like that may have to do with different pulley sizes.

Thanks for sharing, I probably would have done the same. Do you have a part number for the gates tensioner you used?

You don't end up using the pulley anyways.

Gates 38274. You can keep the pulley it comes with as a spare for the 2nd lowest idler. The smooth 3.0 its the same bearing/pulley.

Stoked on my Stage 3 Snow Performance water/meth kit on my FJ. Provides great supplemental fueling for when the ECU is still in closed loop but boosting! Added benefits are intake temps and cleaning valve train!

Wasn’t expecting to see more boost out of the water meth. This is with the 2.85 stealth pulley, AFE intake, and headers!

I’m more impressed with the empty road. I’m constantly stuck in traffic over here.

Oh yeah I gained a full psi of boost. Plus the heat soak is non existent. I like how if your sitting at a light and it's 100° outside you can give it a little spray to cool it off
