    Hello everyone,

Does anyone experience gas pedal vibrations in their 2023 off road? It comes and goes on my truck, and it feels like the truck is slightly struggling in opinion. My truck is fairly new, 8500km on it.

I've looked around the forum but I haven't come across any related threads.

    Cheers

Clarification. What do you mean "gas pedal vibration," and truck slightly struggling in your opinion? Hesitation when you step on accelerator pedal?.

If you are referring to a kind of buzzing through the gas pedal, almost like a bad motor mount kind of vibration , then yes my 18 Sr5 has done this since new , comes and goes with various RPM ranges . I don’t even notice it anymore .

Yes, something like that. It happens in the second gear mostly, gives me the impression there is some struggling in acceleration, no weird sounds are coming though the engine or the transmition. It almost feels like the vibration is coming from the transmission as the shaft spins. I've also noticed a slight difference in the smoothness of travel when the vehicle is coasting when the vibration occurts. I wish I could provide better description but I really cant tell, cars are not my specialty just yet.

I recall these symptoms began after I left the dealership for my 6000km inspection. I might have to find some time and take it back to the dealership.

    Thanks for input.

If your vibration started after a service visit, then by all means take it back and have them look it over . I would call them sooner than later . Better safe than sorry

What did u have done at the dealer ? Did u recently fill up ? …bad gas can cause these symptoms. slight vibration is normal for these engines if it’s excessive then I would have them look at it .

If you are on the original spark plugs, go check the torque and make sure they are all tight. I just drove 82K miles from new and was complaining the whole time about driveability (idle, off idle and low speed power). Replaced with OE plugs but found 2 plugs loose. Drives like it is supposed to now. You need 14ft/lbs on the plugs. If you do find loose plugs, disconnect your negative battery cable for about 1 min to reset the ECU. Also, check your intake hose clamps and make sure they are tight.

Thanks for the info , I’ll be checking my plugs soon as they are original , it runs fine but I do have a vibration at idle that bothers me from time to time , may be normal but it’s worth checking the torque for sure

Yep, I had a weird lumpy idle when the engine was in cleaning mode. I also had a bit of off idle stumble which made clutch engagement tricky and if I ran out 1st gear there was a short vibration over 3K rpm. All of that went away with the plug change. Good luck!

Do you recall which of your plugs were loose , just curious . Obviously will be retorqueing all 6 , and probably just throw a new set of plugs in considering I’m right there already . Truck only has 20k miles on it but it’s good peace of mind

Sorry wrong info, when I brought the truck in it was for the loose bolts recall. I will definitely call the dealer and see what they say. Ill point out the spark plugs as well.

    Thanks boys.

Passenger side bank, 2 cylinders closest to front of engine (don't know the cylinder numbers). Good idea to just replace them.
