Uh thanks eBay, I'll consider it. The price is pretty reasonable

A buddy who stayed at my house for a while after getting divorced left it behind, he claimed it was the closest he could get to his mom's salsa over the counter

So, I bought a new axle from Rock Auto. This axle has the same part number as a Track Motive by Wonn Industries.

I'm taking it apart to see how good or bad it is. I need to separate the axle shaft from the Birfield joint. I found a video about this. It's not hard. I just need a big vice.

Only had about an hour to do any real work today so I drew cut this up as a means of holding my clamps

    20240914_153854.jpg

M14 hardware arrives tomorrow which I'll use to attach to one face of my fixture, after which I'll weld it together and mount it

Used some spare hardware to attach the other mount holder I made

    20240914_130930.jpg

M12 to temporarily hold it up, I'll be using M14 hardware for this as well

Did my 1st ruff assembly on the locker today.
Feel like I learned a lot from this. Still needs a lot of tuning.

Most important thing I figured out is heat and cold make things so much easier. Bearings and races slide in like butter.

I found freezing the pinion gear was the key. Hardly any heat just a lot of cold.

I teach doing bearings on the electric motors. And we use a bearing heater to be able to get the bearings onto the shaft. Man because no one has the time to freeze the shaft at work or carries around liquid nitrogen to be able to freeze it right away

i just froze them over night because I had plenty of time. Separating the pinion gear and the main pinion is going to be another adventure.
