I've owned several Fords ... they served their purpose and were affordable at the time. But I can say from experience ... my Toyotas have always been more pleasant to own and reliable mechanically.

Pretty similar experience for me with Toyota.

Unfortunately I was stuck with frame issues on this one :pout:

It was traded in December '20 so I'm not sure. It sold in Maryland so no yearly inspections like they do here in Pennsylvania. Guy who inspected my truck did not like what was going on with that waxy goop they put on.

Those transmissions were awful. I think everyone of them failed eventually. There was a class action law suit over it if I remember. I don't recall the outcome though. Probably millions of dollars to the lawyers and a $5 coupon to use on an oil change at your local Ford dealer.

Ford fixed ours twice on their dime, once voluntarily, the other was the lawsuit. Then we paid $3800 to have it fixed a third time. Don’t know if I want to put another dime into the Fuc$@&? Piece of Shit

To my knowledge the frame problem hasn't been an issue up here ... at least far as I've heard; there's plenty Tacomas up here. My 2007 never showed signs of it. I know My Chief had the frame replacement on his 2005 ... when I saw it last year it looked like new several years past replacement. His granddaughter is driving that truck now; he bought a 2023 early this year.

I’m thinking so , there’s a really good transmission place in town, going to talk to them tomorrow. Rebuilt ones are going for 4K plus install labor. Probably wind up selling it for parts :annoyed:
