I like how my new Drivers License has "Not for Federal Identification." Just what is this new bull shit the Guberment is trying to pull on us. From what I've read, you have to jump through flaming hoops on one foot while whistling Hail to the Chief to get this new Federal Identification which will soon be required for all forms of travel.

 

This is part of the post 9/11 Federal ID requirements; basically this was done because some states were giving out DL without actually verifying you were the person you said you were = fraud potential . . .
This is nothing new and they have been pushing back implementing this shit for a very very long time


My DL says the same - cause I'll be damned if I go basically have to re/apply for a DL and take all my paperwork again - that is the process here in NC
I have a passport/GE card so I used my GE card


Of course they would have to actually implement these new requirements and considering they have rolled them back for like 13 years, I'm not holding my breath.. [right now the deadline is 7 May 2025]

 

My personal solution to this is to not travel.

 

It's been a number of years since I've left the country.

I like traveling. I hate the colossal pain in the ass that airports have become.


It's been nothin but road trips for the past 8 years.

I try to stick with gravel roads when possible and limit myself to an 80 mile range. + or - 5 miles.

 

Aint real crazy about the public either.

I prefer silence most of the time, lucky for me the only time I have visitors is when my shop door is open.

 

i like it when it's quiet too - weekend mornings are the best around my hood
everyone sleeps in, no dogs barking, no planes flying overhead - just dead ass quiet

no one visits me - no one really comes down my driveway cause its creepy looking and gives off 'stay away' vibes

 

I have old man visitors; unfortunately they love to keep me updated on weather, politics, who bought what and where, who drives that car that just drove by, whats being built next to the freakin Pizza Hut and (the #1 topic).....the price of anything anyone has ever purchased. So I got that goin for me.

 

I like the gossip and the weather
I could do without the politics tho, cause anyone who espouses that stuff - I already know how they feel - and I think politics, getting upset by it, etc. is just stupid.
