Success! I think we have no problem seeing Dean through the dust.

@rubbersidedown bumper looks fantastic! Kudos to James and Jonathan for helping out, too.

I'm bummed I couldn't make it out, but looking forward to seeing it.

I have noticed it seems to factory grease amount is about 2x what Toyota sends with the boot kits.

    But

None of the ones I've done have ever come back needing to be redone. So I guess it works.

As for the clamps, orielleys has the clamp kit wrench set that damn near matches the matco and snap on kits, for 2000% less. Work well too. I think the biggest advantage to the side shooter clamps....

Is on some vehicles, you can get everything done without pulling the axles from the diff. Still pull the shaft and boots etc, but the inner housing can stay put.

Can't remember which vehicles I was able to pull that off on, I know the Corolla and Highlander I was able to, and maybe a 4 runner.

    :anonymous:

Just don't use band clamps/worm gears. The banding will cut the boots in not a long amount of time.

The axle nut is how I broke my Amazon Basics torque wrench.
It goes to 150# but the 2 tiny bolts that hold the ratcheting mechanism in place cannot handle 150#'s.
Axle nut got 150#'s and a couple ugga duggas.

I suspect my truck is running smoother since I rewired the battery ground terminal.
Makes sense but it could all be in my head, too.o_O

UPS dropped off a box yesterday, not for me. The wife got a new office chair.

I surprised her and put it together this morning.

Nice! That is an excellent way to keep the wife happy.
On a side note our Continuous Improvement department at work has a new ergonomics program that lets people test drive different office chairs. I jokingly said that I need to test a Herman Miller Areon chair. ( they are expensive). The response was sure we have one.
Now I’m scared I will test it and like it too much.

I didn’t know Amazon basics made a torque wrench but they make nearly everything else so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised.

When they say 150#'s they mean 149#'s.

I was looking at the Harbor Freight website. They have coupon for 15% off jacks and jack stands, good through today.

I did not know this yesterday. So I drive back over to Harbor Freight and ask for a price adjustment.
    I gots it. $56.00:thumbsup:
    I then got gas $47.00:thumbsup:

    Speaking of Jeffrey B.
Wiring for the compressor showed up today. Sending it to the d.s. bed cubby.
Then I'll rewire the + terminal.

That is something I never considered but if one has a lift it makes sense. This axle came right out but in my defense I didn’t take off my skid plate last time
