I have read every article and gained much info, but just need to make sure I am correct in my thoughts before I order.
My current set-up: 2011 DC TRD Prerunner with non TSD and stock everything else. I plan..for the near future to stick with my current tires (265/70r16) but add some new rims. I do not want to go over 2" on any type of lift. I do not offroad, rarely pull anything or carry heavy items in back. This is purely for looks and comfort factor. I may pursue the TSB at a later date, but now everything feels fine.

I am looking at get the 5100's all around and possibly the 1.5" AAL for the rear. With this set-up, what would the front need to be set to to level the truck (or have a slight rack to the front). Also, do you reuse the hardware from the current shcoks for the 5100's? (bolts, coils..etc) or do I need new stuff. Will the current coils work with the 5100's?

Thx for the help with this matter.

With this set-up, what would the front need to be set to to level the truck (or have a slight rack to the front). Personal preference, .85 or 1.75 (measure and see what kind of difference you have front to back. To me, "level" looks nose high so it's all in the eye of the beholder. Search on here, you can find plenty of picture of various settings.

Also, do you reuse the hardware from the current shcoks for the 5100's? (bolts, coils..etc) or do I need new stuff. Haven't done the fronts yet (next weekend) but the rears reuse the bottom bolt for install. There are some DIY threads on here as well that can be very helpful.

Will the current coils work with the 5100's? Yes, stock coils work with 5100's.

This should help with the 5100's up front. The rears are very simple to swap out.

Thx for the info, as for the level..looking what setting to set the fronts to with the 1.5" AAL installed on the rear?

A side question, do I really need the 1.5" AAL at all..or is this just to give a little bit more height to the overall look?

    Thx

It sounds like you don't 'need' an AAL. They're used for lift or load carrying. If you end up with the 1.5" AAL, you'll probably want to be at 1.75 up front but again, measure from the center of the hub to the fender at stock to determine how much rake you want to retain. If the truck is new, the leafs will settle down some as they get older. You also don't have the TSB so your back end may already be a little lower so definitely measure before you take my word for it. If you do go with the AAL, look at the 3-leaf progressive AAL from Icon or Wheelers. It's more expensive but I've heard nothing but good things about them. The kits also come with new U-bolts and centering pins. I went with Icon's and I'm finally getting it installed next week.

I would like to add the AAL just to get more suspension in the rear and set the fronts to the 1.75 to even it up as close as possible. Then..later down the road..I could possibly increase the tire size from the stock ones I have.

My main concern is I don't want to have this lift (2" max) to affect the other stock components (uca//etc) Want to keep these stock without rubbing or severe alignment issues.

    Thx

With stock size tires you won't have rubbing issues with what you're talking about doing. At 1.75 you should be under where you'll have alignment issues up front also. If you go to the 2.5 mark it's a crapshoot. I'd still measure the fenders and also take a look because I think the rear fenders are cut a little higher than the fronts. What I mean is if you have the same measurement front and back from the center of the hub to the fender, it'll actually look a little nose high. Plus, the non-TSB leaf pack is pretty weak and will squat down without much of a load. The single AAL's are supposed to be better for load carrying ability and hauling, the progressive is supposed to ride better but also still does decent with a load.

Just ordered the 5100's all around and the 1.5" AAL from Toytec (on back order..hope not to long).
Now to find some wheels to fill in the space.
